Profile Pics Not Working

The profile pictures for Buddypress members on my site stopped working recently. I have a section that shows Online Members, which normally has thumbnails of their profile pictures. Instead of pictures, text now appears saying ‘Profile Picture of _.’ Has anyone had this problem, or could suggest how to fix it? Thanks for any help.
