Question about Budypress and my WordPress Theme

  • Hello,

I was wondering about something. I’ve recently created my website with a WordPress Theme. I have already written some post. Then I’ve seen this amazing the Buddypress Plugin and I would like to add it to my website.

But I dread this plugin could delete all my post and my pages. Am I right or can I add Buddypress on my site without deleting everything?

Also I would like my Buddypress to have the same font and color of my theme. Is it possible? How can I do that?

Sorry my very bad English, I don’t now if I was enough clear (I ‘m french^^)

    Thank you

Try the BP Template Pack plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/ – to use BP with your existing WP theme.

BP will not delete your posts or pages.

Ok thank you! Do I have also to install the main Buddypress plugin?

Yes, you need to install BuddyPress first.

    https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/

Then you can try enabling your current theme and using the BP Template Pack plugin.

Thank you so much I’ve a last question:will this BP Template Pack create a social network ? I mean is it possible to keep my pages in one hand and create a social network where users will be able to discuss?

    Thank you again

BuddyPress doesn’t create any pages (at least not in the current version).

It should be safe to use the BP Template Pack plugin.

But, as always, make a backup of your filesystem and your database just for safety measures.

Also, before making any changes on your live site, you should have some type of development site so you can test things like BuddyPress on it without worrying.

Ok Thanks you very much, it’s totally work ! Now the matter of course is that BP isn’t very well adapter for my page. Do I have to fix it with CSS or HTML modifications?
