Random characters in Page Title

My Title Page (the text on the tabs/browser) shows some random characters.
It should say ‘Connect¦Home’, but now it shows ‘Connect & # 124’
This occured after I changed the ‘Base profile group name’ in General Settings in BuddyPress.
How can I get rid of these characters?
