[Resolved] Activating Group Forums locked me out of Admin! HELP!!

    @peaceloveanarchy

    I am using the latest versions of both WP and BP.

    Using buddypress settings I activated group forums (pointed BP to in the right direction to find bb-config.php, (wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums) hit go, and received nothing but a white screen!

    The front end of the site is still active (and forums now showing up in menus etc), and I can log in and out, but as soon as I try get into my dashboard or anywhere else inside admin I get white screen in firefox and HTTP 403 forbidden using IE.

    I haven’t changed any passwords or user roles or done anything obvious that should have locked me out. I have tried accessing the back end with both admin accounts that I have set up, but to no avail!

    Please help, the community only went live a couple of nights ago and I’ve got loads of mates (well, 6 or so!) beavering away trying to create profiles and whatnot! I can’t believe I broke the bloody thing within a couple of days!!

    also, the message;

    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/peace439/public_html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/header.php:3) in /home/peace439/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bb-config.php on line 10

    appears on the forum page instead of showing the forum…

    I checked out the bb-config.php file and all it says is..

    header(“HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden”); die;

    so I reckon I probably need to change this, though what to??

    Please point me in the right direction!

    I also have ftp access if that helps…

    I am now officially in over my head! HELP!

    The site is at http://peaceloveanarchy.com

    Thanks in advance for any help I might get!

    @peaceloveanarchy Rename Custom Community theme folder in server to e.g. wp-content/themes/custom-community-xxx via ftp/filemanager/etc. then go to wp-admin

    is it worth renaming all of them and reinstating one by one to find where the problem is, or will that just make things worse?!

    rename buddypress folder back to normal in wp-content…

    then just rename the plugins folder to e.g. wp-content/plugins-xxx and that will take care of all the plugins. then after you get in wp-admin, rename the plugins folder back to normal.

    activate buddypress, activate bp-default theme first, then activate the plugins one by one.

    Good for you. Good luck. Curious which plugin caused the lock-out.

    I do have quite a few plugins on the go, but the only one I had issues re-activating was bulletproof-security.

    I think that the original problem was caused by setting up the forum after applying the security measures in bulletproof… think I may have stepped on it’s toes so to speak!

    It all appears to up up and running smoothly again now! Thanks again for your help!

    You’re welcome. Thanks for posting what the plugin conflict was.
