After this version 1.5.3.1 all forums and groups disappear out the message “There was an error when creating the topic” This happens to all my sites. This happens even with the default theme!
Delete and reinstall the base BP but alas the problem remained ….
Versions 1.5.4 and 1.5.5 have this new problem I saw that many people have this problem and even I did not see how we can fix. And I wonder whether there has been an error somewhere in the script on BP.
Everything else works perfectly for me and thanks for the great work you have done.

Posting in testbp.org two ways were successful:

1. Via Group BuddyPress Features and Usability > Forums > Add New – then posted topic – see http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-features-and-usability-632843827/forum/topic/testing-group-forum-topic-create/

2. Via Forums > Create Topic > Post in Group Forum – BuddyPress Testers – see http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-testers-614548248/forum/topic/2nd-testing-of-group-forum-topic-create/

After many tests I found that if you have not previously installed the old version BP 1.2.10 Forum groups will not work ..

With me not working because I installed 1.5.5 on a clean database and forums so groups do not work. But when I delete the database and installed 1.2.10 and Forum work groups. Then upgraded to 1.5.5 and forum groups continue to work … I think something is missing to be added to the database when you first install it BP and the latest versions from 1.5 up!

I am not a programmer and I can not say exactly what is omitted is added to the database but I hope to investigate this and fix the problem. Many people have this problem … write “There was an error when creating the topic” google and look at yourself.

For all who have this problem the solution is very simple …

1. You must install the 1.2.10 version of the BP .. To create a forum topic group and see if everything is okay.
2. To upgrade to BP 1.5.5

So everything will be fine.

so where do I get a copy of BuddyPress 1.2.10? I’m using a brand new install as well and get 404’s when I try to go to the group admin page, the thing made a group page (which is empty).
