Set featured image stuck on saving

I’m using WordPress 3.2.2/Buddypress 1.5.5 and a custom theme. Up until recently I also had Orbit-slider on my homepage. Then this morning the plugin seemed to go belly up, displaying all the slides vertically on the page instead of in a carousel.

I tried unistalling the plugin and using a different slider (responsive slider) but found that when I tried to set featured image, the pop up box appears as normal, you can select a file but when you then click on “set featured image” the process gets stuck on “saving”.

I’ve tried deactivating all my plugins from the dashboard with no effect and also tried deactivating all plugins by re-naming my plugin folder in FTP to no avail.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be happening ?

I would suggest contact theme author especially if it’s a premium theme.

Hey thanks for getting back to me, I tried changing back to Buddypress default and the same problem remains.
