sidebar disappeared after update 1.7.2=>1.8

    BP Version: 1.8
    WP Version: 3.5.2
    Hi, I was previously running buddypress 1.7.2 without issues using the built in theme compatibility. After upgrading to 1.8 I cannot get the sidebar to appear on any buddypress pages. I have tried creating a buddypress.php file with the sidebar call but it was unsuccessful. Any help or suggestions to get the sidebar to show will be greatly appreciated.
