Sign up and activation issues

Hi… I’m running into these issues – Sign up notification emails are delayed or end up in spam and on the same screen where users are asked to check activation email, they are prompted to upload avatar which doesn’t work. So I have to manually activate a lot of user accounts and change avatars. Now this is what im trying to do:
1. Change the text to bold/red where it says check your inbox or spam folder.
2. Hide avatar upload. It should only be displayed on first login or after successful activation.

This is happening most likely because the text in the subject, and or message it triggering the email to mark as spam.

Download the plugin “welcome message”

You can easily edit the message for email.

I think Paul was working on a change to the core to make the avatar upload appear after activation. It does make sense to wait until they’ve activated to upload the image. That should be next major release of BP I think.

thanks for the update @techguy. I think I’m okay with spam also, but just want the text “Check your email for activation” to stand out.

What if I manually activate user accounts using “WP_Activate Users” plugin? Do they still get welcome email?
