BuddyPress.org

I’ve installed buddypress today on WP 2.9.2 bookbabblers.co.uk. I can obviously log in, but the ‘sign up’ option isn’t appearing on the site so others can’t register. What have I done wrong??! I also tried to add a buddypress extras plugin which has crashed my admin panel, with a fatal error due to memory size. I’m waiting on my hosts to get back to me on that – would this be related?
