I have a site that I am trying to add widgets to the sidebars. When someone logs into my site, and clicks on the “Activities” to update their status, it shows on all my sidebars “Text Widget-This is a widget area. Visit the Widget page in your WordPress control panel to add some content here”. I’m not sure how to add widgets to these sidebars. I have been trying everything.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
