Strange things happening with registration forms on BuddyBoss?

I nearly had my site ready to go but I’m tearing my hair out over this issue! Can anyone please help me figure this puzzle out? Bear with me it’s a complicated one…

I have BuddyBoss installed and I have the BuddyX theme which is supposed to be compatible with it. I have something odd going on with the registration page. If you visit my site as a logged out user on a desktop and click register, the page (/register) shows TWO different registration forms – the BuddyBoss form and an extra form. I don’t know where this extra form is coming from and I can’t get rid of it. As well as the extra form, the BuddyBoss form itself reverts to the default and contains fields I deleted.

Clicking ‘Create Account’ without completing the forms reloads the registration page how it should be, with the extra form gone and the BuddyBoss form displaying only the fields I have set it to show. On a mobile browser it’s a different issue: there is NO second form and the BuddyBoss form is not the default BUT it does show an extra field I once added and then deleted. However, when I view the site as a ‘site visitor’ through the View Admin As plugin, the registration page displays perfectly without these issues!

Also, repeatedly clicking the ‘Register’ button seems to (sometimes?) cycle through previous registration pages I’ve deleted, like it goes from /register to /register-2 – which is a binned page!

On top of this the plugin BuddyPress Members Only, which restricts non-logged in users from viewing a user’s profile page and redirects them to the registration page sometimes doesn’t work and allows non-logged in users to view a profile page, and not even the current profile page, but an OLDER VERSION of the profile page before I updated some settings. When it does redirect it redirects to /register but this time the page is completely BLANK with no forms at all.

I’ve tried a few different form builder plugins and they don’t change the issues. Deactivating the form builder plugins doesn’t solve the double registration forms issue either, and only means I haven’t got a working login page.

I really don’t know what to do. I’ve been through settings, tried deactivating various things, I can’t see where the problem is coming from let alone how to fix it? I’m at my wits end!

It’s a brand new site I’ve been trying to put together myself so I don’t mind so much if I have to wipe it all and start over as it doesn’t have any content. Will this solve the problems?

    Thanks!

These are the forums for BuddyPress.
Please send your questions to BuddyBoss and / or the creators of the BuddyX theme.

I know but there isn’t a forum for BuddyBoss, and I don’t know if it’s BuddyBoss or BuddyX or something completely different that’s causing the issues, and maybe someone using BuddyPress has had a similar issue. I’m just trying to narrow down the problem.

To narrow it down, take the usual debugging steps.
For example, switch to a WP theme like 2020.
You can open a support ticket at BuddyBoss.
You can send an email to BuddyX.
All those steps will be more productive than posting in these forums.

Thanks I already deactivated everything except BuddyBoss plugin and switched themes, and the homepage was in the new theme but all other pages were still in the BuddyX theme and still had the issues. Also, repeatedly clicking the home button caused the homepage to cycle through the BuddyX (inactive) theme and the active theme. That’s weird, right?
