Is this within my reach, to add a simple text widget above the bp-default theme’s login fields?

    Thanks!

if you haven’t yet, you should create a child theme of the BP Default theme. Create a functions.php file for your child theme and in that functions.php file add the following http://pastebin.com/VVByv1p0 and make sure there’s no space atop or beside the opening Widgets and you’ll find the Before Login Widget Area

I cannot determine the right spot for this; washoping for some guidance on hwo to insert into functions.php. I thought i left a comment here, but may have possibly& mistakenly left in one of our other discussions.

thanks for any more feedback on placement. e.g. after such and such, before such and such, possibly? thx.

@discdemo Open a text file, paste the code I posted above, File > Save As > functions.php file which should be in your BP Default child theme folder in server.
