Sorry just to clarify you mean they can’t comment on blog posts or status updates? If that is the case what theme are you using and do you indeed see a comment button? Is it the submitting of the form that doesn’t work or do you not even see a button to comment?
If you are looking at using Disqus this thread is a good starting point: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/buddypress-disqus-integration/
HI, yes I see a bouton with “Comment” on it, but when I click nothing happen…and it’s for status update yes.
thanks for the link
Change to bp-default theme and see if issue is corrected.
Hi,
Whe I change to the bp-default theme, the comment button is still here, but when I click on it nothing happen…
WP/BP versions? Single or WP multisite? Have you tried re-uploading the BuddyPress plugin folder manually (FTP/FileMgr/cpanel/etc)?
WP 3.4. BP 1.5.5. Single WP. NO I don’t Try, but I just see you can active the comment in the Codex, but it still doesn’t work. The comment bouton don’t work…
You’re referring to commenting on Activity Stream updates and the like, right? Have you deactivated plugins except BuddyPress to see if issue is resolved? Have you re-uploaded BuddyPress plugin?
Hi All,
I don’t think that this actually is a buddypress problem. I don’t use BP and on a site I am looking at for the owner the comments don’t work. I have deactivated all plug-ins and used the standard Twenty Ten theme but they do not want to open up (oh yes I have changed the setting to enable the comments to be active). I have a 3.3 site and there it works fine on this 3.4 site it don’t
So I rather think that this is a WP issue than a BP issue.
On the other hand with software you never know….

We are experiencing the same set of problems. BP WP theme, it’s a soccer ball being kicked around but no one has any answers to date
There’s no soccer ball here. Please start your own topic and give more information about your installation – WP/BP versions, theme used, plugins used, Windows or Linux server, localhost or shared hosting or VPS and the like. Also, have you tried changing to bp-default theme and deactivating plugins first.

Hi guys,
have you searched for a js conflict ?
+1 Chouf1 … I had the same problem and played with all the plugins. Go figure…last one checked…Thickbox Version 1.6 was causing the conflict on my particular site.
