Transitioning from 1.2.8 to 1.5

Hi

I need to upgrade my buddypress install from 1.2.8 to 1.5, and checked out the sticky post above “Transitioning from BuddyPress 1.2.x to 1.5 “

The link in that post is dead, and I want to make sure I understand the process

Yeah, there were some housekeeping in Codex. The link you want is https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/developer-and-designer-information/ and I’ve updated sticky post as well. Thanks.

So I am doing this for a work site at the moment. I suggest you set up a test site, which you can do test runs of your upgrade. Go through all the posts linked in the thread that mercime found the proper link for (sorry for broken link earlier), and update all your plugins — especially BuddyPress plugins.

If you are using any old BP plugins that haven’t been updated in the last year/year and a half, there’s a good chance it won’t work with BP 1.5.*
