Trouble applying page template to bbPress forum page

    @pealo86

    I’ve set up a page and applied it to my forums section.

    It seems the only way I can apply a custom page template to this page is by first applying the template, and then disabling the bbPress plugin before re-enabling it.

    However, if I then go to the page in WordPress and click the blue ‘update’ button, the template then switches to the default page.php template on the frontend (even though it is still applied in the backend).

    So basically, each time I update the content on my forums page, I then need to go back and disable / activate the bbPress plugin.

    Anyone else had this problem?

    Which bbPress forum are you referring to — internal bbPress forums used for Group forums or bbPress 2.+ plugin used for Sitewide Forums?

    If you’re referring to Group forums, if you’re using a WP theme, you need to install BP Template Pack plugin, then adjust the HTML structure of the forums in BP template files to render the layout you want.

    If you’re referring to the Sitewide forums, then there should be no problem at all.

    Have you tried changing to bp-default theme to see if issue is corrected?
