Trouble with Events Manager (free version)

I have searched high and low for someone else with this issue. I have Events Manager installed in my Buddypress/Wordpress site and I have gone through all the settings of EventsManager to ensure that any user can submit an event. There are a few issues though.

There is no add new event or equivalent button on the events page. Also, if you click on “events” in a user’s profile, it takes you to the homepage of the website instead of their events. If there are no events from that user, shouldnt it take you to a page that says they have no events? The default events are listed under my admin name, so they should be listed when I click events on my page.

Unfortunately my client doesn’t want the site released publicly until it is ready to be released so I can’t share a link. I would appreciate it if you could help me without giving me flak for that detail. Thanks in advance.

This appears to be a child theme issue. Take a look at some of the later replies in the article you mentioned. I was having this problem and I switched to a non-child theme and the problem was fixed.

Try moving the buddypress folders (specifically the members/single/plugins.php and same in groups files) to your child theme if you need to keep the child theme flexibility.
