Trouble with registration process

I heard from users that registration was not working. I tried my self and created a new user Mad Max. I got the confirmation email and clicked it and got the nice message “WELCOME—go ahead and log in”

I clicked on Log in and (in safari) the user name and pwd were automatically filled in but when the SUBMIT was clicked, the window shook and reports “invalid User Name”

This jives with the reports I am getting from visitors reporting their trouble with registration.

Please advise help to troubleshoot and fix this issue. thanks.

Still happening. It’s adding a second iteration of sending activation email before it finally works at login. Different message too when you do it a second time.
