Upload of picture during registration

Ive been trying to find out if this is possible for quite a while now – but no luck.
I would like users to be able to upload a picture (NO avatar) during the registration process which will then appear on their profile page.
I thought this would be relatively easy to do – maybe with the help of a plugin.
Anyone has any suggestions on how to achieve this?
