You should do what the error message says, and start by looking in your bp-core-avatars.php file, around line 1032.

If your site is live, and it’s critical to your users that it remain that way, it’s best not to modify live files on a live server, as this is the likely outcome.

    Here is my website http://www.techknowledgic.com/

and it’s all of it down and also I can’t log in to my admin area in WP and I get the same error so how can I edit it or remove buddypress and reinstall it?

I tried to look into that file by my FTP account and the line 1032 is empty so what should I do in this case?

    It worked 😀

I had a backup of the that file and reuploaded it but the new one has around 2400 line while the old one which I uploaded it now has 1032 line but nothing seems to be changed on the website so may that affect things or hidden things like functioning the forum and that things?

You should never modify BuddyPress’s files. There’s no way for anyone to know what you’re doing to them, meaning there’s nothing we can do to help you besides recommend rolling back to an unmodified installation.

    Thanks for ur help!!!

I just was looking how to re size the avatars pic size for the members and there was a code in that file for the width and height and that things so I just was changing the numbers because there is a problem with the avatars sizes and they are making the forum ugly and the pics with less quality because they are very big so I was changing the numbers and that error suddenly happened

anyways, I am not gonna do that again 😀

That is not the way to modify any aspect of BP or any app especially in a live situation as mentioned and discovered.

You can set default constant values for avatar ‘full’ & ‘thumb’ or if needing them smaller than the shipped default size you can use CSS to reduce an image size within reason and as long as it’s not a massive reduction(CSS is not a means to reducing file sizes they still load/download at full size)
