Xprofile custom field type – read only – admin edit only

I am new to BP and not some code expert at WP also 😉

I’ve added a few custom fields and now i would like to make one custom field (expiration date) visible to users – but read only – editable only by admin – can anyone please point me out where to start looking – which PHP files and where to do code modification?

Where is script which load custom filed on user profile located?

I’ve already found some parts of codes searching through web but i really don’t know where to start…

I also installed plugin: “buddypress-xprofile-custom-fields-type” and checked “Nobody” – but field is still visible and editable on user profile edit…

Can anyone help me out here please?

    WP version: 3.8.3
    BP version: 1.9.2

    Warm regards,
    Jan

I’d like to know how to do this too. Did you ever figure it out?

That would be a very useful feature, can the devs add this to the feature requests?

you should try to hide the fields from the edit profile page but not from the profile page. try editing the wwwroot/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members/single/profile/edit.php. more information here https://buddypress.org/support/topic/ow-to-hide-more-than-one-profile-field/
