BuddyPress doesn’t let you change username but there are plugins available that will let you do that.

Hello,

For now, I have hid the menu with CSS until I can find a cleaner solution. BuddyPress adds way to many links to the Admin especially considering the fact I don’t need BuddyPress registration features, they are just there and cannot be disabled for whatever reason.

I’m experiencing some strange behavior of the BuddyPress 2.7.2 Groups.

First of all, the call

returns the wrong slug. It should return ‘gruppen’ but still returns ‘groups’. The slug of the page was set to ‘gruppen’ and the page has been set as the groups page.

There was/is a plugin called something like ‘Anouncement Groups’ that was as name suggested informational only , maybe not quite what is asked for as it joined all site members automatically but didn’t allow direct commenting / interaction but was read and notify only iirc

I can’t figure out if this is possible or where to start if custom coding is needed.

I think custom coding will be needed here as I’m not aware of a setting or plugin that’ll let you do that.

Maybe somebody else here might know of something?

Do you know which version of IE they are using? Early versions are rather troublesome. 9.0+ is better supported

I have some old groups that have some active members. I would like to close these groups to new members but let the current members still see the activity stream (and documents from a plugin) content, but only have read only access.

I can’t figure out if this is possible or where to start if custom coding is needed.

#7349 is not closed, please check that again. That quote is just my comment (yes, I do have personal opinion) to a ticket.

wontfix is regarding #7341, which is related and I’m not sure about (that’s why I linked to it in #7349).

Nobody said, that we (or I) don’t want to fix this.
