I was hacked last week and the current setup is from a restored back up that my host had. However some parts like the hackers user account was still there and a few things were strangely still readjusting all week. The forums were working after I cleared things up but going back to the BuddyPress ‘Forums Setup’ in wp-admin and reinstalling the forum config has worked. Thanks.
This resetting has happened to me before about a month ago with bp pages , they were suddenly unavailable and I had to reset them. Is there another cause for this perhaps to do with the new bp component setup? When I was hacked my host said that there was a compromise in a function in the code. BP upgrade was the only major change and now settings have turned off twice.
This has been a old question with BP. There a plugins to disable most feeds such as “disable rss” , the activity feed cannot be turned off but you can redirect that link with redirect plugin. I was told that the icons have to be removed manually , so look for it in the themes files.
1) roles per project set by project creator. Therefore when selecting responsible, also select role. So that all in the group with discussion rights , can’t discuss in projects they are not responsible for. Nor all in group with editing rights can edit any project they aren’t responsible for and ect.(Super admin still determines what roles mean)
2) only members of groups that are permitted to use GTM should have “assignments” tab under account. Currently, enabling “display for each user his personal Assignments page ” gives any member of the site an assignments tab. Simply turning it off makes it hard to be notified.
3) Super Admin option to allow reply’s to “notification entry in activity feed for newly created tasks and projects” to be only seen by project creator (user sees his own reply of course). This creates a sort of a private applicant system.
4) Super Admin backend stats of total # completed projects / total projects started.
Is welcome pack coming back? Is there a way to downgrade bp until? Being able to change the email domains and email activation has become a crucial part of function for me.
@hlna . I also use manual approve with welcome pack to stop users from activating themselves. Manual approve works properly with the the new custom community bp theme, no header problems. ( I just have issues with welcome pack now since bp’s upgrade, one thing fixes and the other falters).
I’m using Manually approve plugin for this. It’s not in the wordpress gallery but works on MU. My only problem is that I get thise error with bp themes:” Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_page_title() in /home/thebaman/public_html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/header.php on line 11″ Any suggestions? Actually, I have a number of blogs blocking search engines and their posts still show up in activity until choosing “Disable activity stream commenting …” stops blog posts and comments from showing up. I’m trying the opposite of your goal, but to stop posts of only particular blogs from showing up in the feed (May not be possible since bp settings must be site wide ). Should you figure out what was it was exactly , I’d like to create that problem per blog.

Running any other users blog you choose in the admin blog can be done by inserting their blog url in the admins link list under whatever category you choose. Then install the feedwordpress widget (http://feedwordpress.radgeek.com/ ). In ‘syndication’ which appears in the left of your dashboard go to ‘feeds and updates’>feed information>syndicated link category , choose the list where you keep sub-domain blogs urls or feeds. In the regular bp theme the admin blog will show each posters avatar however, but their posts all show in your posts so that you can delete each from there.
