Well done! And what about localization and some others fixes? Are they implemented?
As I can see after updating po|mo files, no i18n changes, just code.
Not in this one as it was important to get security fixes out first.

where did the open TRAC-tickets marked with “1.1.2” go ?
Great stuff Andy! TestBP.org is working great too! Lots of fixes. Well done, sir.
Can you tell us which files were updated?
By chance you guys going to be fixing the registration re-dirrect any time soon? (Bug where when someone types in a non-existant blog and gets redirected to /wp-signup.php?newblog=invalidblogname it just shows as a white page — no html or content)
@Mike W: Still deciding how to approach this. It’s debatable, but that functionality is a huge source of spam.
@simoncreative: You can find that information in trac: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset?old_path=%2Ftags%2F1.1.1&old=2061&new_path=%2Ftags%2F1.1.2&new=2061
I just performed this upgrade automatically and now bet the following error:
Warning: require_once(/home/domain/public_html/blogs/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/domain/public_html/blogs/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-loader.php on line 19
Any ideas what went wrong here?
[…] BuddyPress Updated to 1.1.2 […]
Installed, think it works. Is there an date for 1.2 with the privacy component andy?
Is there a ticket for this ‘redirect’ bug?
thanks so much Andy! Just got through updating each of the files.
I went to upgrade to 1.1.2 and followed the instructions and clicked on deactivate on the buddypress plugin and my screen went blank and I can not get it back. What do I need to change in the data base and in what table to get it back?
did an automatic update, no problems so far. good work!
Got the site back up. Before you deactivate the buddypress plugin, switch to a different theme that does not depend on BP functions first, then deactivate all plugins that depend on BP, then if you are using bp-custom.php rename it, then deactivate BuddyPress, and now you are ready to update. Then of course you reactivate in reverse order.
Great stuff Andy! http://testbp.org/ is great. But, colud you help me please?
i installed wordpress mu 2.8.5 without problems but when i installed buddypress 1.1.2 in the plugins folder my admin page of wordpress fails, the page just turn white after i activate it in the “Plugins > Installed” menu, and there is nothing i can do until i erase the buddypress folder or rename it.
Could you tell me what is the problem? Incompatibility?
I extracted buddypress files and upload it to my server in the folder social/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/
I’m looking forward to your reply.
thanks
Multi-line text box doesn’t understand line breaks!
If users enter text, hit return, more text, hit return… it won’t be acknowledged. When viewing the profile, it will smush it all together into one big sentence. Users shouldn’t have to manually enter line breaks.
Also, there should be a way to distinguish URLs from content in the social network. If someone enters a URL for their blog or website in the social network, BP thinks its a keyword, so it looks in the site for it as a hyperlink. URLs in the social network aren’t understood by BP either.
Please fix these in the next update. Thank you. Keep up the great work!
I have upgraded my site manually and it works just fine.
Hmm, wish I had read Shaun’s comments before trying to update.
This MUST be added to the upgrade instructions!
After you disable all related plugins, then disable BP main plugin, all goes blank. Not just main blog, but all blogs.
Had to rename plugin folder and bp-themes before I could even get into wp-admin. Would have been enough to rename only the BP plugins & themes, but hard to find out. Then of course all plugins were de-activated, so painfully checking all and re-activating them. Can’t imagine what a nightmare this will be on a large live site.
So: definitely switch theme first if you are using the standard theme. Else all will go blank and you will have a hard time getting it back unless you are FTP connected. again: this should be in instructions, not hidden in some comment here…
Your install should not go blank if you disable BuddyPress in the admin area. The front of your site will for a short time while you upgrade, but the backend should not.
Something wrong. Could not update automatically. Maid manual download.
Hi andy,
the front and back went blank, at the moment I de-activated BuddyPress, so before doing any update itself. Only after renaming the themes and plugins they both came back.
Only then I stared the (manual) upgrade.
It seems that if you use the standard themes you should either:
– change to another theme before updating
– update automatically (or manually by just overwriting?) without deactivating BP first.
Is that correct? It conflicts with the upgrade instructions.
Cheers, Harry
I just upgraded and it worked fine now I’m trying to activate buddypress skeleton component but it resulted in a fatal error even after moving bp-example and bp-example.php file to wp-content/plugins/
Sample error bit:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_example_register_widgets() (previously declared …)
Any ideas of what might be wrong? Thanks.
