Over the past few weeks, we’ve released three – count ’em, three! – beta versions of BuddyPress 1.5. During that time, we’ve gotten some great feedback, and some great patches, from our user and developer community. With a clear mind (and a clear milestone), today we are releasing the BuddyPress 1.5 Release Candidate.
The “release candidate” label means that we think that the current codebase is rock solid, and this final stage in the release cycle gives users one more chance to find any remaining kinks before the stable release.
We’d like this RC period to be short – we’re as anxious for the 1.5 release as you are! – so please give the RC a go in your test environments, and try the latest code in a live testbed at testbp.org. As usual, we recommend that you don’t run pre-release code in mission-critical production environments.
You can download BuddyPress 1.5 RC 1 today, from the bottom of our Trac page.
In addition (it’s been quite a weekend): available immediately is BuddyPress 1.2.10. This minor update includes an important security fix, as well as fixes for a few deprecated function calls. It’s a recommended update for all BuddyPress installations. Upgrade through your WordPress Dashboard, or download BuddyPress 1.2.10 from WordPress Extend or BuddyPress.org.

… not close enough, not satisfying… not even compatible in theme with WP 3.2, come on, this is pathetic…
i’ll have to drop wordpress and the all just because the main engines are not even communicating between them in the same company… bbPress, Buddypress… looks like the target is far, way too far.
@nexia could you find any less “pathetic” way to say you don’t like this software..? cause there is people who like it..and using it before even it’s a final release with WordPress 3.3 & WordPress 3.2.1 and VERY satisfied with it..so if you have to say a feedback..at least say it in positive way..have fun 🙂
@rimzan-hassan being late mean the developers do their best to get you the most stable code.. and as bugs-free as possible for this stage..so it worth waiting..right? 🙂
@cupid4
Yeah 🙂
greenmeanie: Why an I getting this error when I try to activate?
“The plugin does not have a valid header.”
If you rename & move the content in the folder “tags/rc1.5..” to just folder “buddypress” it may work
@cupid4 … you really don’t know what is a feedback, isn’t it? positive or negative… the goal here is to cover all the pros and cons of a release, not to build a fan shop…
you may be addict, i don’t really care… i’m a wordpress evangelist since 0.7, i built my business on it, and i use a lot of platforms with the system.
a success is not built only from positive comments, but with negative ones as well… the guys know me, they know they also need to hear from the clients to why they quit…
you’re too young to understand that, you just think one have success by smiling, continue that way… good luck
