I am using the latest version of wordpress, 2.9.2.

when i active the budypress plugin, 1.2 all i get is a white page and no access to the rest of the control panel, i then have to delete the plugin to regain access.

i have also tried the template plugin to make sure that my custom theme will work with the plugin, but again still no luck.

    any ideas would be great

Can you find and check your error logs?

this is exactly the same problem i am having and I put a post also describing my situation (https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/upgrading-bp-getting-white-screen).

it seems like this problem may be common.

Deactivate all your plugins, then try to install bp again and reactivate bp first and the other plug one by one.

if the blank page still occurs, see how much php memory_limit you have on your server.

i answered also on the above linked tread.

alistairkidd, please let us know if what chouf1 said works for you.

This happened to me – so I looked at themes, and it said “The active theme is broken, reverting to default theme”, which is the default WPMU theme. Once I switched to the new BP default theme, the home page came back.

    Hope this works for you.

We definitely need a plugin which will allow user to deactivate BuddyPress triggering automatic deactivation of all BP-related plugins/components AND auto-revert theme to WP Default Theme :-)

yep your right, php memory limit it was at 32 and now its been increased to 96. I was running a membership plugin along with buddypress and it was sucking up all the memory.

Now with that increased i can run two of the plugins.

Great! Many thanks for your help.
