that;s great, thank you very much.
Do you know if it is possible to have no slug value for things like “groups” and “members” etc?
ie, am trying to move all the really relevant stuff like forum title etc further up the url dir path.
@nanchante if you have groups, members, etc., enabled for your BuddyPress installation, then we need to have the slugs there for the permalinks to the component pages. Otherwise, madness will reign
If you just want to rearrange navigation or to highlight priority in the way the different components are rendered in a) main navigation or b) member pages or c) group pages, then there are other ways to resolve that.

How would that possibly even be possible? I don’t think that would be possible, no slug means the URL is non-existent, so it would redirect to the homepage
Not without changing BuddyPress core code in a couple of places.
just a couple? Can you elaborate please?
I’m also interested in this. Since people often create forum topics in the wrong groups, it’s not usual to have to move them around (using @dwenaus Topic Mover plugin). Moving the topic breaks links to it (in notification emails, activity stream, etc.)
Any suggestions on how to change the slug or how to somehow avoid this problem of broken links for moved forum topics?
