In reply to: How to increase avatar size?
In your wp-config.php paste these lines:
define( 'BP_AVATAR_FULL_WIDTH', 190 );
define( 'BP_AVATAR_FULL_HEIGHT', 190 );In reply to: site wide members page has bugged outSeems like you have it working now, please post how you did it for others if you can.
It works fine with subdirs or subdomains or with WPMU in a subdirectory. Please post more details about your setup, perhaps we can debug what is wrong with it.
In reply to: BuddyPress domains, and questionsWe have a domain policy. If you follow it then I’m happy to link and reference your site from buddypress.org, if not, then I can’t.
In reply to: Page Not Found Error With 1.1If you can avoid installing MU in a subdirectory you’re going to skip a lot of headaches.
In reply to: SI CAPTCHA for WPMU and BuddyPressThe design problem was a bug in the RC, it has been fixed in the latest trunk.
In reply to: Limiting Access to Registered Users?Someone should put that bit of code in a plugin and add it to the plugin directory, it would be handy for people.
In reply to: SI CAPTCHA for WPMU and BuddyPressLooks good, but I’d recommended changing the hook
bp_before_account_details_fieldsto
bp_before_registration_submit_buttonsfor better positioning on the registration page.
In reply to: SI CAPTCHA for WPMU and BuddyPressMike: You may want to look at updating this for BuddyPress 1.1 since the registration page has been re-written to make it easier to edit.
In reply to: RC1 Forums Directory ProblemUpdate the themes.
In reply to: Buzzlyf.com – Indian Students BlogosphereI hope the site isn’t running on a shared server.
In reply to: How to call: Site Wide ActivityIn reply to: BP 1.1-RC forums looking good!<?php if ( bp_has_site_groups( 'type=most-forum-topics&max=6' ) ) : ?>In reply to: How to improve performance of your website.?In reply to: New theme framework and exisiting WP themesGood call, I never considered doing it the other way around.
load_template() calls should be replaced with locate_template() calls that support child theme lookups.
In reply to: Avatar Crop Tool OffsetThe cropper has been totally re-written in 1.1 and these problems no longer exist.
In reply to: New theme framework and exisiting WP themesThe best option is to set “Template: bp-sn-parent” in the WP theme’s style.css header. That will allow it to inherit all of the BuddyPress templates.
If that isn’t an option (perhaps the theme is already a child theme) then you will need to copy over the template files from bp-sn-parent into the wp theme. Just make sure you don’t replace any existing theme files.
You’ll will probably want to add the user navigation into the theme also, you can add the following lines to the bottom of header.php:
<?php if ( !bp_is_blog_page() && !bp_is_directory() && !bp_is_register_page() && !bp_is_activation_page() ) : ?>
<?php locate_template( array( 'userbar.php' ), true ) /* Load the user navigation */ ?>
<?php locate_template( array( 'optionsbar.php' ), true ) /* Load the currently displayed object navigation */ ?>
<?php endif; ?>Once you’ve done that, BuddyPress pages will inherit all of the theme’s styles and its header and footer. You will of course need to add extra styles since WP themes only handle blog pages.
You can also try importing the bp-sn-parent screen styles into the WP theme’s style.css file. Depending on the theme, this may help to add layout to BuddyPress pages, but also stay within the WP theme’s look and feel.

In reply to: wait to update or install 1.1?Matt: make sure you log out, and then log in with this form. See if you can then post.
In reply to: New Theme ArchitectureThe style.css file in your child theme should override the bp-sn-default style.css so the screen.css should never be loaded.
Check out this theme as an example:

In reply to: Is this the way Forums are supposed to work?@wordpressfan: You must first visit a sub forum on this site to post a topic. You cannot post a topic from the front. It is identical except for the fact there are no groups listed on the forums directory in BuddyPress.
Also –
You don’t need to first browse to a group, click a group name on a topic and you will go straight to that group forum where you can post a reply or new topic.
You don’t need to be a member of the group, you can post a reply or a new topic on a group forum and will auto join that group. It’s not a two step process.
Stickies cannot be show on the front. You may have hundreds of groups, each with stickies. This will clog up the directory and make it useless.
@allenweiss: If you don’t want a group to be a place for starting topics and discussions then simply disable the forum on that group.
In reply to: Is this the way Forums are supposed to work?It is no different than the way things work on this forum. You cannot just post a new topic. You must first browse to the correct group/sub forum/category before you post. You do not have to explicitly join a group to post.
In reply to: Upgrading to 1.1-beta breaks Atahualpa blog themeI’ll be writing up a “how-to” on using WordPress themes with BuddyPress very soon. What you have described is one way of doing it if the “template: bp-sn-parent” does not work.
To get the user menus you can add these lines to the bottom of your header.php:
<?php if ( !bp_is_blog_page() && !bp_is_directory() && !bp_is_register_page() && !bp_is_activation_page() ) : ?>
<?php locate_template( array( 'userbar.php' ), true ) ?>
<?php locate_template( array( 'optionsbar.php' ), true ) ?>
<?php endif; ?>In reply to: New Gallery ForumPost each link as a new topic please, that way we can have discussions related to each link.
In reply to: BuddyPress Showoff: Post your linksClosing this thread to start a fresh one as this is too stale now.
