Should be simple as this:
svn co http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-mu/branches/2.7 ./wpmu
cd wpmu/wp-content/plugins
svn co https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk ./buddypress
svn co [my-plugin-repo-url] [my-plugin-dir]Then when you want to update WPMU just svn up in /wpmu/ and when you want to update BuddyPress just svn up in /plugins/buddypress/
In reply to: Question about the future..Since all three are primarily developed by people working for Automattic, you can expect them to continue to work together. You should also expect them to integrate even better in the future. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
In reply to: BuddyPress in /plugins/ not /mu-plugins/ from r1303+Read the instructions I just posted in the first message. Please also make sure you are not using the MU trunk, but the 2.7 branch.
svn co http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-mu/branches/2.7
You shouldn’t need to start again, as long as you have followed all of the instructions.
In reply to: BuddyPress in /plugins/ not /mu-plugins/ from r1303+Only site admins can see and activate/deactivate the plugins. Please see the first post again for proper install instructions.
In reply to: BuddyPress in /plugins/ not /mu-plugins/ from r1303+1. No
2. No just the admin
3. Everything on this first page, and then to #485 on the second page has been fixed since RC-1:
In reply to: Ever growing database tables – is this normal? No, there are auto upgrade routines to convert the tables.
In reply to: Upgrading Buddypress – is it easy?If you are just using the default templates you will just be able to overwrite everything from RC-1 to RC-2 and then the same for 1.0 shortly after.
Using other themes from the default or your own theme will require some tweaking going from RC-1 upwards, but this is only because we are currently pre 1.0 and there are some last minute improvements.
In reply to: Ever growing database tables – is this normal?Actually – this is no longer the case for activity tables, they have been changed to global tables, as it is actually faster for selecting friends activity.
However, generally for scaling across servers, multiple tables make it far easier.
In reply to: BuddyPress in /plugins/ not /mu-plugins/ from r1303+Yes, I’ll be adding graceful error messages for when bp-core has not yet been activated.
In reply to: BuddyPress in /plugins/ not /mu-plugins/ from r1303+No, sorry that isn\’t all that clear. Until the actual tagged official version of WPMU 2.7.1 comes out, you will need to use the branch. After that, you are fine using tagged versions, or the zip download, as long as it is version 2.7.1 or newer.
If you\’re using SVN, then \”svn switch\” makes it pretty easy.
In reply to: Announcing: Events componentEgerrits: can you submit this to the WP plugin repo so it will show up on the BuddyPress site?
In reply to: Group PluginsDevelopers should look at using the groupmeta tables and also check out the hooks page for groups in the codex. Also take a look at some of nicolagreco’s bpdev plugins.
In reply to: profile fields not behaving correctlyFound the problem, if you update to the latest it’s fixed.
In reply to: Changing Profile FieldsIn this first version it’s not possible to re-arrange, but it’s a high priority feature once 1.0 is out.
In reply to: profile fields not behaving correctlyChecking this now.
In reply to: Header links of sub blogsBuddyPress pages will only run on the root blog, or the blog ID you give for BuddyPress to run on by adding this to wp-config.php:
define( \'BP_ROOT_BLOG\', 1 );Where \’1\’ is the ID of the blog you want BuddyPress to run on.
This was introduced in a recent build – before BuddyPress would potentially override pages on any blog, which causes problems.
So: http://example.org/subblog/members will not work, but http://example.com/members will work if you do not define the line above.
In reply to: How to delete a group?[group] > admin > delete group
In reply to: Urgent – Registration form additionThere is a “terms and conditions” plugin available that you could use.
In reply to: member/blog directory, the abcd… for i18n?You could write your own functions, and then just remove the ABCD… part from the directory templates.
In reply to: Several problems AndyDo you have WPMU installed in a subdirectory, but the still running in the root?
In reply to: I think it’s inefficiencyloader.php no longer calls the WP enviro.
Also try using the object caching support:
WordPress MU itself is not designed to run on a shared server, so you should really avoid that if you can.
In reply to: I think it’s inefficiencyNot in the trunk.
The WordPress theme controls the home page and all blog pages, the BuddyPress theme controls everything else.
You won’t get emails from this form, that is just for group forums. Your best bet right now is to use the RSS feeds.
I’ll be updating the forums to re-introduce favorites lists etc once 1.0 is out of the door and I can put some time into it.
