  • Excellent MrMaz, I’ll most definitely buy it, as this is the kid of thing I have really been needing. One question, is it possible with this to do like a “post to Facebook”, or similar, or like Imath’s Bookmarlet (which is awesome): I can’t see why not right?

So glad you didn’t let this one go after all the work you’ve put in.

I’m having the same problem as @mwbarker

It’s all the latest updates. I run my live site with w3TC, have disabled cacheing for logged in users, but still having this problem.

My localhost test site has W3TC disabled, and it’s no problems. I guess I’ll have togo through all settings one by one until i find out what’s causing this.

    <– Edit.

    Ok, this is weird….
I believe this has to do with “Page Cache” settings.

I disabled Cache home page (now, I can loign/logout no probs)
Selected “Don’t cache pages for logged in users”

Now, as a test, I visited a few of my pages, log out, no probs. Stay logged out.

Now, if I visit a page, say “About”, if I login on that page, I can logout, visit the homepage, I’m logged out, but if I visit that page again, it shows me as logged in. When I try to logout of “About”, it send me to the: (nonce verify page)

    Very odd.

@abysshorror it definitely works mate, I just updated last night. As @modemlooper suggests, make sure you edited the required code:

Copy the home.php into buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members/single. Overwrite the file or edit your own home.php file

Just change the or if like me you have another template:

(as this template home.php overwrites the root buddy press one. This may be your problem)

Good luck, it’s a great addition.

What @modemlooper said, definitely the easiest and simplest way to do it, but if you want to integrate with certain activities, posts etc, try:
However, this doesn’t exclude anything, which means EVERY activity can be posted.

now, if only you could combine the awesome Buddypress extras from etivite: then you’d have a killer combo

@modemlooper you are so on the money, great stuff. I’m sure as the project get’s more mature these things will be inbuilt using what people like you have added. Until then, Big thanks for your contributions!

This should do what you want:

I have loaded it, and it’s really nice, however, i’d prefer to add tags to an activity, rather than hashtag linking, (because I’m using the BP Bookmarklet), but until i can code, beggars can’t be choosers, and it’s a great plugin, so….

This seems to be a nice plugin that works on buddypress:

Some slight manual additions (just add your recaptcha keys into the actual php file), but apart from that, clean, simple it seems.

That’s a great idea. I’ll be listeing closely to this thread if you create it dcatkins40
I had the idea ages ago for something like this, and extending it so:

    user could:
Do positive or negative actions to a friend (ie: Poke Fred / Hi5 Fred)
Freds’ mood who got (poked, or liked) responded with a plus or minus mood (ie, Fred is sad because Bob poked him)
Bobs “Karma” rating goes plus or minus depending on the action (Bob’s turned evil)
Have a time limit in which to retaliate, if you retailiate within 5 minutes you can ‘pwn” the user bigtime
I was going to build this into a avatar builder but never got past the concept stage due to other ideas.

Ok, so my idea is way over the top for this poke idea, but may spark some interest maybe.
