@Chouf1 amazing insight. Thank you. I may have to get rid of Salutation theme – each time I ask them for most basic stuff on how their theme works with BuddyPress, they refer me to BuddyPress support. And their entire sales pitch is based on their theme being BuddyPRess and bbPress compatible. Just on that sales pitch, they sold over 4,400 themes as you can se here: http://themeforest.net/item/salutation-wordpress-buddypress-theme/548199
Thanks again.
The plugin works – it does show the redirect page for the first time logged in users. After that, it dissapears. This is perfect for giving people instructions on how to use BuddyPress the 1st time they log in. Good enough for me.
Welcome pack is fantastic idea; plugin that handles all the back-end work. OK – I will try it and let you know how it works. Downloading now…:)
@ubernaut – your website gotgame dot come looks very nice on the front end. I registered and was able to login. But here is the key question and the reason why I wanted to test it on some website that looks nice on the front end like yours.
Question is – don’t you think that the average user gets confused when they register and login. I mean, after registration, I see homepage I already saw and there is new bar on the top. I am like “Huh! What now…” – nothing is intuitive and user has not idea how to add content to this website and contribute.
I assume this is default way BuddyPress handles experiece after the login and I must say – GUI does not help you to grow your members, contributors and content.
Is there a better way? Is there a better template we can redirect logged in users so they can have AN IDEA of what to do after they login?
Help from anyone greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Ok. It makes sense. Thank you for taking time to respond.
