The codex is as good a place as any to learn WP and BP. You can search YouTube for videos as well. Lynda.com offers tutorials for a fee, as well as Tutsplus.com . Lisa Sabin-Wilson has several books called WordPress and BuddyPress for dummies but I am not certain how up to date they are with current versions of WP and BP.

I am pretty sure you would have to build the menu manually in your themes header.php if you are trying to get it like the buddyboss demo’s. Depending on your skill level it could be easy to difficult and you would also have to style it and the sub menu’s CSS. Go to dashboard/pages/groups actually open the page as if you was going to edit it, it should be just a blank page then click “Screen Options” it should be there! Follow the rest of the instructions!

Do you see that button at the top right of the Groups page that says “Screen Options” just below the toolbar? Click on that and click the box that says “Slug” then scroll down past the page body and voila the slug metabox magically appears. You can change it there! Good luck!

Wonder if @sbrajesh would consider merging the plugin being developed with the one you linked to above. I think it may save a little confusion for the users if they had both of those options in one convenient plugin. Anyway, it is just a thought. Either way it will be great!

BuddyDev is planning on releasing a plugin as you can see in the link below but it has not been released as of yet but you may want to keep an eye out for when it is. Also not sure if it will be premium or a freebie release.

Just for the sake of simplicity I searched for a video on youtube for you. Pay close attention to the part around 4:30 as it shows how to enable registration.

If you can’t find what you need in the codex, then search google, or maybe even youtube for a tutorial if you need visual instruction.

You need to go to dashboard/settings/general and click anyone can register. Then you can create a new test account and in either a different browser or chromes incognito window go to the site and log in with the test account credentials.

Sounds like you didn’t have anyone can register checked before installing buddypress. It is located in dashboard/settings/general. You will need to create them and assign those pages in dashboard/settings/buddypress/pages and make sure you click save settings.

I just made a fresh test install of WP 3.6 beta4 and BP 1.8 beta 1 and I activated the bp-default theme and I can not replicate the issue you are having. Must be something weird in your database.
