Wouldn’t that be something that could be accomplished thorugh filtering the site wide activity? So it actually just shows the people who you’re friends with? That would give us something like a facebook live feed.

I’m still trying to make this happen without a plugin: Now I am pretty certain this can be accomplished by using this

if ( bp_has_activities( 'type=sitewide&max=6&action=new_forum_topic' ) )

I still haven’t figured out though how only to filter out the title (plus link).

Thanks Andy. Though I know that and that’s not the problem here. I’m only trying with friends. And it was working before my update to 1.1 I believe.

How can I troubleshoot this?

As mentioned above, I do not have the autocomplete=”off” in my source code for the send-to-input. I guess this is related.

How exactly would I populate $topic?

It’s not that

<?php echo date("j", strtotime($topic->topic_time)); ?>

<?php echo date("M", var_dump($topic->topic_time)); ?>

isn’t working entirely, it just gives me completely wrong numbers (1 JAN). And if I’ve done the var_dump right it indeed gives me a NULL.

If you are making this a plugin, can you make sure it does work for child themes as well?

Chewbaker, if only not-friends are not self-completing, then this is the way it is intended to be.

If autocomplete is not working no matter what, then welcome to the club.

I’d really appreciate any troubleshooting and debugging hints on this one, as messaging is practically worthless without the function.

I’m using BuddyPress of course. But I just don’t want to add a plugin for a simple action like that.

I just want to add the last ten titles from the buddypress/bbpress side in the footer.

I don’t see what your problem is with a) the button disappears when you’re logged in. Of course it makes sense, since you’RE logged in you don’t need the button anymore. b) What’s wrong with being logged on Facebook and testbp.org? That’s the point of the plugin isn’t it?

But for c) I do also get the error message when trying to connect. Is that because my site is being developed on a local server, or is there anything else wrong with my setup?
