@caspergrimaldi
JFYI I didn’t insult you. I am still willing to help if I can so please provide the info. Also you said you have a custom function. Can you provide it so myself and the other volunteers can help you out. For future reference don’t assume your being attacked when a volunteer asks for info okay? If you disabled this plugin that was…[Read more] -

@caspergrimaldi
Nobody is calling you a dummy! Also bare in mind that is the responsibility for the person posting the topic to provide details on their install on support requests. Volunteers should not have to launch an investigation because you failed to provide such info. If you didn’t provide the info and then you give bad attitude when asked…[Read more] -

@caspergrimaldi
Please give more complete info on your install. You mentioning “The plugin” is a guessing game and most of us can only spare a little time here and there and we don’t have time to ask every user to provide the details they should have provided when they first opened their thread. Most of the threads you see that no one has answered…[Read more] -

@caspergrimaldi Adding width, height and a float can make alignments consistent
#members-list li {
float: left;
height: 150px;
width: 120px;
}
Adjust to taste -

@caspergrimaldi It won’t work if you don’t add it to a stylesheet. Where did you add the style I posted above? I don’t see it in the theme’s stylesheet nor did you create a custom.css file per instruction of theme dev to add style changes.

@mercime replied to the topic [Resolved] change "primary" field title in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 6 months ago
@caspergrimaldi I’ve changed/edited the Primary Field Name in two installations, one with custom BP Default Child theme and the other with Twenty Twenty Twelve theme and both are working fine. Try deactivating plugins one by one or batch by batch to check for conflict.

@caspergrimaldi What theme are you using? Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if the name has changed.

@caspergrimaldi missed that. You can edit the Name of “Name (Primary)(Required)” field by clicking on the Edit link of that field.

@caspergrimaldi
Have you tried using a language file to change it?

still would like to get rid of the empty space above sidebar in the profile sections.
@caspergrimaldi That’s the default layout of Frisco theme for Member and Group pages. You can use negative margin for the member sidebar in your custom.css file
body.bp-user #sidebar {
margin-top: -100px;
}Adjust negative margin to taste. You’d have to…[Read more]

@caspergrimaldi have you tried deactivating plugins (I see a lot activated in your site) one by one on your site to check which one is conflicting with BuddyPress?
@secuip glad you resolved the issue on your own 🙂
Tip: next time, it would be better if you created a new topic for your issue so that it could be seen right away. -
