check Fast Secure Contact Form, can perhaps contain some strong restrictions going over the whole site forms.
Also, check posting with only BP activated and bp default theme.
Then reactivate your theme, check again, and then the plugins one by one untill you find the culprit.

Normally the error should disappear.
If so, the culprit is your theme. As it seems to be a premium theme, you have to ask the author about this error and how to resolve it.

if you use a cache system, maybe clear it.

you have to learn a bit on your own. Geting a style element ID is ALWAYS written in the page source code, not absolutly in the function.

I currently have the Avada Theme for the demo site. But, they would like Buddypress
If they want BP, install BP 1.7 and done.
BP 1.7 will integrate any WP theme (so far as they are correctly coded accordingly to WP rules of course)
You already experimented with ThemeForest. (no comment) Try another theme publisher.
If you need several button drived admin possibilities, aka automated templating, you have to search yourself. Because there are thousands of BP themes. Ands by this, thousands of opinions.
As site creator you should around this easely.

bbPress is a forum plugin that can be used separetly from buddypress. If you need extra features, bbPess has also some plugins.

In reply to: Date format and languageSWA has a date in english, you change to spanish and now SWA is in spanish and previous activities are in english. It’s just normal !
Now you have verified and nothing changed. Have you create a new content meanwhile ? Deactivating and reactivating plugins has no influence on the SWA. If you don’t use specifically this plugin, so far he provides some activity (like add a picture to the album) who goes to the SWA, who don’t see absolutely nothing.
Could be that if you apply changes about date format in WP settings, or in a plugin, this will not appear in the site wide activity. The modification will only apply after you did the change. SWA has no backward compatibility with settings. Also for language format.
Sorry for this detail, but it must be knowed before complete headache

But why do you want to retro pedaling ? Those buttons are not visible for visitors. Reverting this just to redirect them to the login page and hoping they come back after registering is fussy !
I would suggest you to write a short message like:

Can you add some screenshots on the plugin repo please ? IMO, it’s better for previewing the plugin.

Anyway, here are 2 functions to make this work a little better as your function.
One removes the setting page to avoid the 404 error
And the other remove the “general > settings” submenu.Will see this week-end how to move “notifications” from sub to top level in the my_account group menu. Also how to get rid of the “settings” menu on the buddy navbar showing above the content.
