Thanks.

@DJPaul Hey Paul, just trying to fix the formatting on the achievements directory page but having some difficulty. I’ve managed to get most of the pages to inherit the basic styles from the child theme (canvas buddypress) by just adding id=”bp” to the div with class=”padded” but can’t seem to find where to change it. the file I’m editing is…[Read more]

Great!! Thank you, hnla and of course Thankyou to @DJPaul, and I must say “Sorry for my words, Paul”.
I’m almost a noobie here and after reading a little I can say that your reputation is safe, no matter what you do with this plugin. My apologies and my respect. -

Not all plugins are going to be the same, however the fix for showing the settings or an admin page are pretty much straightforward- however as you appear to be talking about the ‘Welcome Pack’ plugin I would hold fire as @DJPaul has announced iirc on his plugin page for WelcomePack that he will be upgrading […]

@djpaul, @boonebgorges, @hnla Is there someone who knows *why* this happens? Is it a matter of a wrongly coded url which anyone can fix? Or is it something that needs refactoring of the entire plugin? If it was easy we could start submitting the update plugins to the authors with the fixes, instead of waiting till the author […]

@DJPaul So, the plugin “WELCOME PACK”, written for YOU, and not working for this reason is not well-written? I’ve read about the solution in other forums of changing “admin_menu” to “network_admin_menu” to make reappear the plugin menu, but it’s only there. You can’t change settings. I tried this solution changing “options.php” to “../options.php”…[Read more]

@DJPaul WordPress clearly defines these roles: “Subscriber, Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor” – The roles are clear and they hierarchically bestow more privileges as you traverse up the hierarchy.
When I install BuddyPress these additional roles are added: “Key Master, Moderator, Member, Inactive, Blocked”
Are BuddyPress roles…[Read more]
-
Those are installed by bbPress (the forums). WordPress won’t use those extra roles. Have only recently become aware of this, especially if bbPress/BuddyPress is uninstalled, those roles still remain.
-
Thanks Paul. Are the bbPress roles documented anywhere? Are they vestigial? Can they just be ignored and if so, should they be removed from the interface as choices when adding a new user?
-
It’s not so much a question of “should they be removed”, it’s just how bbPress installs itself. Of course, this clutters up WordPress if you decide to not use bbPress. I think they should be removed on bbPress (BuddyPress would have to special-case this somewhere, but the idea is similar). Next time I catch the lead developer online, I’ll flag…[Read more]

@DJPaul Hi Paul,
I was wondering if you could maybe help me?
Right next to your Profile Picture is a short text summary describing yourself as a developer.
And right underneath it is a follow button.
Is this all done with a plugin?
If so, do you by any chance know what plugin/s this is? -

@djpaul killer combos….nice. ! sounds like that would need to be tied to Start Date and End Date parameter to work best, or else it’ll get hard to manage beyond the first post/comment combo for example.

@XXXXX Don’t act this way. Do not attach non-related images with offensive messages in different topics of this forum. I’ve deleted where I have been able to.
Spammer @DJPaul @boonebgorges @r-a-y @hnla-
Mercime what type of offensive images, have we got and retained an example?
-
Example retained in this post https://buddypress.org/community/groups/gpress/forum/topic/gpress-bp-chat-or-gallery-errors/
I was able to delete the images like above with offensive messages. In another image, he had “Are you pregnant? Then …” and had 3 other images with offensive content attached to different topics.
-
Ok the one linked is not offensive as such but nonetheless…
Boone has marked him as spammer or as we say in UK a spanner.
I suspect given the rather childish posting of images he might be back again under a new account.
Teen angst *sigh*
-
He hasn’t been marked as spammer, I can still go to his profile

achievements/index.php is the achievements directory template. Achievements doesn’t use “padded” class anywhere. You’ll probably have to add it in at the appropriate place, I assume it comes from the canvas theme.
