Did someone get this problem resolved, yet?
It’s good to see some marketing around buddypress 1.7 going on. 🙂
I like your theme. Are you using a custom gallery plugin?
This way the content will add up quickly.
Sounds good.
It would be great if users could also add videos to music categories.Wow, this is great.
So you are not even using the buddypress groups?Is each category e.g. Pop, Rock, Latin, etc. a buddypress group? Or did you code your own plugin for this?
The theme is just so easy on the eyes and very well structured. Nothing gets in the way.What an awesome site! If you would sell your theme, I’d buy it. ^^
To me it seems like that this goal was a marketing strategy in order to get the project financed which worked surprisingly good. The best feature I like about this software is that that each server install is able to communicate with each other. This means that I can have friends on different domains and still share content information. This is something which I haven’t seen before.
With Bp Album + you can only upload one picture at a time. Users prefer selecting batch uploading. Also, only one album per user is possible. I know that there is supposed to come the new version out which has all those features, but the release date is unsure. I am pretty certain that bp is not going away but most likely diaspora will also be around.
There seems to be a plugin for that. https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-group-hierarchy/
But it would be nicer if it be a core feature since it seems to be a fundamental feature.What additions or features are those? I have no idea what version 1.3 will bring. Is there anywhere a post where we can read more about the upcoming version?
@Travel-Junkie
Oh, my bad. Sorry for misunderstanding that message output.There is also this commercial (€59,50) plugin buddyvents. But the testsite (http://test.shabushabu.eu/events/) shows up a lot of warnings which makes me think that the software is not stable (screenshot: http://i52.tinypic.com/5ydv0g.png).
So, yes you are right. There are some event plugins out there but none of them seems to be a good event solution. I used to think that eventpress had the best potential but it has not much evolved since the launch.Blog comments not showing within the activity stream might be a bug referring to blocking search engines.
But have you noticed that there is a huge gap when replying to an activity? See screesnhot: http://i56.tinypic.com/2iayj6d.pngI have just noticed that blog comments don’t show within the activity stream.
@modemlooper Sounds great. (:
Two more questions…
When updating the theme, how can we maintain custom css changes without editing custom.css after updating?
Is it possible to show the ad code (sidebar.php) only on certain wordpress pages. Because I would like to hide this ad code on most buddypress related sites.One more suggestion, how about adding ajax pagination for latest blog posts and or maybe ^^ make ’em sortable by date, most hits and most comments. (:
See screenshot: http://i56.tinypic.com/9bazye.png
I also use firebug a lot but I can’t seem to find the corresponding css style.
Edit: Okay, I have found it using Chrome developer tools. It is this line:
“.subcontentpost { margin-bottom: 15px;}”Thank you for helping out. So I guess it is just a “normal” wordpress theme.
Wow, what a great theme. (:
Frontend users can also add events using Eventpress. You just need to click on the “Create event” tab within the events page (http://domain.com/events/create/). See screenshot: http://i56.tinypic.com/k4fn9f.gif
What I like about Travel_Junkie’s Buddyvents event plugin is the clean event creation process and the fabulous grid view.I really like the grid view of the all events page a lot.
I have created an event with a chosen category and enabled the group feature. Check out my screencast with the error appearing. http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c66tiH6iu
I have tried creating an event on your test site and I have received this error “Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /www/htdocs/w00aae38/test/wp-content/plugins/buddyvents/core/bpe-helpers.php on line 405”
makes my day
