@chrisclayton thx for being awesome!…that solved the problem. Probably was 200 people on here who could have givin that simple answer sigh.
Still havent figured this out and would LOVE an answer. From what I can tell the comment form only has 3 custom functions in the bp-default functions.php and I removed all the filters in my child theme funtions.php but they don’t remove and I don’t get it. Help me @boonebgorges

third times a charm!
bump because I really need to figure this out
In reply to: [Resolved] How to create a custom comment templateoh ok i figured this out. I copied the function to my functions and change the name to my_dtheme_blog_comments. Then I changed the function called in my child theme comments.php. I’ll leave this up in case somebody stumbles upon it.
In reply to: Allow comments in user profiles.My members are artists that post music and videos all which are shown on an elaborate profile so I want to give people the chance to comment on the artists collection much like youtube does with channels or deviantart does with their profiles. I guess you have to know the theme of a site to better understand why they would want to use certain components but there are uses for everything.
In reply to: Allow comments in user profiles.3rd times a charm

@hnla Thanks! Yeah I just wanted to see the function so I could use hooks to rewrite it in my functions.php
In reply to: Favorite button for posts as a core feature.Oh I asked you like it was your plugin lol. I’ll ask @djpaul about it.
In reply to: Favorite button for posts as a core feature.@chrisclayton that looks really cool! Will there be an option to use it as a button if you dont use the admin bar? And will it allow a user to return a list of things that he liked on his activity pages? I used the old “favorite post” plugin to allow users to favorite video posts on my site. I could then show that loop of favorited videos on their activity pages which was dope until it broke.

Boone Gorges oon wordpress.stackoverflow.com figured it out. is_page() will return true on BP content, because BP (since 1.5) uses WP pages as its basis for display. So we changed it to this and now I have a sidebar only for profile pages.
`<?php
if (is_single()){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-single.php’);}
elseif (is_page() && !bp_is_profile_component()){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-index.php’);}
elseif (is_category(‘fame-game’)){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-fame-game.php’);}
elseif (bp_is_profile_component()) {
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-act.php’);}
else {
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-index.php’);}
?>`I need to have a different sidebar for a profile page than an activity page and I dont see how to accomplish that by that method. The whole idea is that a profile page is more for learning about a member. My members post things and I want to show their own posts in a sidebar. But they are active on an activity page so I want to show posts of others since they don’t need to look at their own work.
I substituted bp_current_action() but that still calls the default sidebar for a profile. I searched all over for an answer but it’s like nobody has ever had a need to use different template parts for a profile than an activity page.
I’ve tried every conditional tag listed on the codex but nothing works. Would really be nice if one of the many people on here who know the answer to this question would take the time to leave an answer. Here is what Im using to trying an pull a specific sidebar to the profile page.
`<?php
if (is_single()){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-single.php’);}
elseif (is_page()){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-index.php’);}
elseif (is_category(‘fame-game’)){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-fame-game.php’);}
elseif (bp_is_user_profile()){
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar_act.php’);}
else {
include(STYLESHEETPATH.’/sidebar-index.php’);}
?>`Bump. I really need a solution for this please.
In reply to: Conditional statement for member components?hmm that didn’t work either
In reply to: Users unable to create an account!Bump…really need some help with this.
In reply to: Users unable to create an account!Update!
I figured out it that it was because the username doesn’t allow spaces but it doesn’t say that on the form and it doesn’t point out the error if tried. Is that normal?Ughhh where is it??? I cant find it anywhere.
In reply to: How to disable responsive css?Thanks for the thorough response. I’m not sure if I did it right but I pasted the function into my function.php and that got rid of all my styles from my child theme style sheet which confused me.
Collapsing is the wrong word. What happens is it shoves my sidebar underneath the content and since I’m making a mobile version of my site I don’t need that to happen and it takes an absolute positioned element in the sidebar and overlaps it to the top of the content.
In reply to: Buddybar Account Menu CSS help.Alright so I did a real hack job with the css but it works. If you want to do something like this you can use the above snippet and then I added the following css which you’ll have to play with to make it line up.
`#wp-admin-bar ul li#bp-adminbar-account-menu{background: url(images/admin-menu-arrow.gif) 100% 48% no-repeat;}
#wp-admin-bar ul li#bp-adminbar-account-menu a img{padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;margin-top:-5px}
#wp-admin-bar ul li#bp-adminbar-account-menu a{vertical-align: top;display:inline-block;padding: 5px 0px 0px 0px;margin-top:0px}
#wp-admin-bar ul li#bp-adminbar-account-menu li a{display:inline-block;padding: 5px 15px 5px 15px;margin-top:0px}`In reply to: Crop Image for Avatars is disabled.Bump..really need help with this
