In reply to: Limit replies to a comment and not the children.
That didn’t work. I dont know if it’s because it’s for the comments of posts and not the activity stream or what. I was hoping there was a function to handle this.
In reply to: Limit replies to a comment and not the children.I dont see the option to disable replies to nested replies. See I want people to be able to reply to a comment.
But I dont want someone to be able to reply to the reply of the top level comments. Does that make sense?That worked great. The accordian menu required two different jquery files one which was like 1.4.2 and one called menu. I think the menu script was special and I changed all the $ to jQuery like you said and then deleted the 1.4.2 and everything works now. Thanks alot as always modemlooper!
Their not really plugins. They’re two different tutorials I used to make A. tabbed sidebar widgets and B. Accordian menus. They each come with their own jquery scripts that you’re suppose to link to in the header. They each work when I do that but not both together and they both disable activity posting. Here’s the link to one of the tutorials.
Tabbed sidebars…

.I’ve been trying to find the answers even though I know nothing about Jquery. It talks about wordpress jquery files being no conflict files. Are buddypress jquery files not set up to do that? What can add to other Jquery scripts to keep them from conflicting with buddypress?
In reply to: How to pull a profile field?I tired making it $data = bp_get_profile_field_data( ‘Twitter URL’ );
but that returned unexpected T String.Also do I need to add anything like $user_id to make it work outside the loop on single post page?
In reply to: How to pull a profile field?I’m getting an error when I tried to add this saying unexpected ‘=’. Here’s what I added to my template.

……..In reply to: Javascript link in Head wont allow activity postsWould really like some help with this. Is keeping me from launching a new site.
In reply to: Javascript link in Head wont allow activity postsStill haven’t solved this.
In reply to: Where is the Notifications menu action?Still can’t find this.
BumpIn reply to: Trying to edit forum template.Still haven’t figured this out. Could use some help.
In reply to: Activity comments for forum topicsHow nice would it be if someone could start a topic that looked just like a status update from facebook whether it be about a video/picture/topics and then people could just comment on it the same way people comment in a group on buddypress. Then you could show a list of the trending (last commented) topics in a widget and it’s perfect.
In reply to: Activity comments for forum topicsDoes that work with your 1.5 site? I activated the sub plugin for it and it didn’t change anything for me. We’re talking about Topics for Forums right? It actually turns the topic stream into an activity feed for you?
In reply to: Site Wide Activity without friendsAlso looking at the buddybar php I don’t see the actual links for things under the activity sub menu. How can get rid of that sub menu all together and just have a link for activity in the “my account” menu.
In reply to: Site Wide Activity without friendsSo to make this accessible to the members I need to add that link then to the buddybar. Seems like a good idea to have it automatically added to replace “Friends activity” when the friends component is disabled.
In reply to: BP Head pulling wrong url for Facebook Share.Well if it doesnt pull two url’s on a standard wordpress site and then it pulls two with a buddypress site I have to think it’s a buddypress question no?
In reply to: BP Head pulling wrong url for Facebook Share.It’s the share. It actually shares correctly now but it still pulls two url’s. It started pulling the right one first when I stuck the meta at the beginning of the head. Before I had it at the end of the head and it pulled the cached url of the first post. So my only guess is that something in the default head pulls that url of the first post.
In reply to: BP Head pulling wrong url for Facebook Share.The url of the website. Before I actually added all the og meta the Facebook link was pulling the meta of the first post on the homepage and it would stay the same post for 3 days at a time while it was cached.
Ok cool thanks…One more question I have is how can I show specific loop in the sidebar if you are viewing someone elses personal activity but if your are viewing your own you’ll see a different one. This is something I wanted because I want people to see the posts of the member they are viewing but if they are on their own page I want them to see the most recent posts for the site.
I wish I could do that without losing my favorite plugins like BP-Chat and sitewide activity bar. Is there a way to auto add everyone as a friend to eachother when they sign up?
When web development stops being polite…and starts getting real.
Good read guys.
In reply to: Getting the BP post author avatar outside of loop.@DJPaul Ha ok I got it working. Just have one more question and that’s how do I display it larger than 50px without it distorting the image? It displays larger on the members profile without distorting but when I set the code below to “96” the image came out fuzzy.
if (strpos($template, '%POST_TITLE%') !== false) { $userid = $post->post_author; $post_title = get_avatar( $userid, 96); if ($max_post_title_chars > 0) { $post_title = snippet_text($post_title, $max_post_title_chars); } $value = str_replace("%POST_TITLE%", $post_title, $value); }In reply to: Getting the BP post author avatar outside of loop.@DJPaul Ha ok I got it working. ‘if (strpos($template, ‘%POST_TITLE%’) !== false) {
$post_title = get_avatar( $post_id, 50);
if ($max_post_title_chars > 0) {
$post_title = snippet_text($post_title, $max_post_title_chars);
