Bump. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Please help. I can’t login to my backend. I can’t make any changes to the site or login. I have no idea what happened. I disabled all plugins from phpmyadmin and it didn’t work.
I’m guessing it has something to do with bp custom or functions.php but everything looks perfectly fine. I made some slight changes then replaced back to original but ever since then I tried to make some test posts on my forum and I’m getting all sorts of these errors above. If I remove bp-custom is still gives me the same errors but instead it says functions.php instead.
All help is really appreciated. I’m a bit desperate.
Thanks,
eorWhat I wanna do is eliminate the home tab completely from groups. I don’t see a need for the group activity.
What code would I need to just eliminate the home tab in the bp custom file?
Thanks so much,
eor@techguy do you know if there is a timeline for the bbpress wp plugin update? Was just about to create a bbpress installation.
Thanks,
eorThink I Fixed it. Thanks!!!

@justbishop found your thread…here it is incase anybody else needs it! Worked like a charm….Fixing avatars https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/custom-avatars-arent-shown-on-single-blogs-in-wpmu/?topic_page=1&num=15
@mercime you are awesome!! That worked perfectly! Now I can actually go to bed tonight ha. You don’t happen to know how to fix my this issue as well do you? ….when i type in endofregulation.com/community it takes me to w w w.endofregulation.com. Easy way to fix it?
Thanks for the help again both to you and @gunju2221
@gunju2221 I put the css in my style.css of my current theme. I’ve also tried putting it in the bp.css for the template pack.
Am I supposed to be putting it somewhere else?
Thank you both so much for helping me. @gunju2221 I’ve tried your css and thats not fixing the issue either. I’m really at a loss. Maybe its something deeper to do with my theme?
@mercime my site url is w w w.endofregulation.com/community
I left the url in the other thread as well so i apologize about having two threads. Thanks again.
eorPlease help!! I am lost. I’ve tried messing with everything I imagine would effect the sidebar widgets..specifically geared towards the buddypress. like i said i used the buddypress template pack. Please help.
I honestly have been trying to fix this for days now and don’t have the slightest clue anymore of whats causing the vertical display rather than the horizontal. I’m assuming it has something to do witih the template pack I used to make my theme compatible but I really don’t know.
Anyone else ever see this? Anybody give me some hints on how to fix it? This is driving me nuts. I just want to launch the social network.
Thanks so much,
EORBump…Anybody know how I can fix this?
Thanks so much,
EORw w w.endofregulation.com/community
Yes I have tried resaving the permalink settings. Didn’t work.
I’ve also looking at my plugins and I don’t have any redirect or caching plugins that may possibly affect this. I guess my next step is to create a new page like you said.
Thanks for your help ray. If you think of anything else let me know.
Thanks again.
EORmy BP version is 1.2.6. I’m also using a custom permalink structure…./%post_id%/%postname%/
Do you think the custom structure may be affecting it? Should I use one of the common settings instead?
Also I’m using a non BP theme that I’ve used the template pack for and converted css etc.
Thanks,
EORNevermind i’m an idiot. worked fine. i didn’t realize my multi site secondary blogs have a backend of their own. Wow.
Thanks lol
Well I guess I’m looking for some insight on what you guys think is the best thing for me to do. I just don’t want to take a chance and disrupt or screw up my current install of 3.0.
I have no problem using buddypress on the current install if it can function fully with all the usability of a proper buddypress theme. I know about the template pack but I feel there is something missing when that is done.
The community portion of my site is not going to be the main focus. its somewhat of a secondary concern. I guess thats why I considered using a secondary install.
Let me know what you think is best.
Thanks everyone,
DanI think a lot of it is because its considered spam by most email hosts just as gmail, aol, etc. Can someone help create a fix for this? There has to be a way to change the way the emails are delivered from Buddypress.
Thanks,
eorAny closer to getting this to work with mu?
Thanks,
eoranybody have a way to do this?
thanks,
eorI just tried that as well. Still getting the same “Sorry, you must be invited to join” message. Driving me nuts. I think it has something to do with another plugin i have installed. The registered only plugin. When I disable that things seem to run smoothly.. gotta test it out again tho. Gonna have to find another way to keep the site private.
thanks,
eorThanks to both @paulhastings0 and @mercime,
I’ve tried the “wp-signup.php,wp-login.php?action=register,/register” before and that doesnt fix my problem. Mercime I just tried what you have suggested as well and it still doesn’t work. It’s becoming a major frustration! lol. If you’d like to test it out yourself let me know and I can send an invite to you. I really appreciate the help you’ve been giving me. Unfortunately this is an extremely important plugin to my overall concept and its a must fix. so thanks again. I have buddypress and MU installed in my main directory.
eor
I placed the plugin file in the mu plugin folder. And that did make the secure invites show up in my admin panel.
When I send an invite and the individual clicks the link from their email they always see this message—> “Sorry, you must be invited to join” ….obviously they were invited lol but for some reason the error message comes up…
What could be causing this? All help would be greatly appreciate as this is the most important plugin for my site.
Thanks,
eorThis is the main or even only reason I chose to to use wordpress mu. I really need an invite only registration and this plugin is perfect. Please if someone could help me set this up I’d be extremely appreciative.
I’m sure @lpapworth would appreciate all the help as well.
Thanks,
eor
