thanks for the replies, it’s not exactly what i need though.

i want to add a button to the nav menu so users can go straight to their profiles at any time and not just when logging in. i’d have thought this would be built in to the default navigation like on any other social network type sites but it’s not for some reason.

    Fixed this.

for anyone interested we still had Register Plus Redux installed which was clashing with the Buddypress registration.

and should users be asked to create both wordpress and buddypress usernames? this really is painful.

i’ve just created a new test account and whilst it’s asking me to create a password in the registration once the account is created a new random password is being generated, which is obviously causing even more confusion.

    can this be fixed?

Hi, i realise this is an old thread but since it was the first google result i thought it best to reply here and maybe someone else will benefit too.

I’m using the Custom Community theme and tried deleting all the code from the buddypress sidebar.php but the login/out/avatar are still there.

Can someone please advise on what else to do? do i copy the buddypress sidebar.php over to the Custom Community sidebar and then remove the code and if i do that will it effect anything else in the CC theme?

    many thanks.
