But sure would be interesting see what they have to say, don’t you think?

That’s the spirit. Perhaps ask core devs for some guidance to get it right from start.

Don’t think there will be a public release. Better lobbying core devs for this.

Wow, thats really cool! @farmer paul

Had a thread in the past trying to build interest for a Docs plugin and came by some new info on docs and others doing intergration. Was bout to revitalise my old thread but thought I post it here instead.

Bump! Please fix the forum rss feed.

    Well, obviously it’s you!

Am I the only one following forum discussions through rss? Missing it badly!

And I mean that in a good way :) If you hesitate because of massive opinions, I’m sure there’s plenty of help to get here.

I think your overdoing it. Just release, get feedback and iterate. That’s one of the main benefits with OS and a big commited community.

ok, so if this ticket is critical for the privacy plugin, I suggest we all wish for some @jjj action-love in trac :)

What tickets in trac are about the patches you need?

@peterverkooijen: Try telling your opinion without personal attacks and being harsh. That’s just counter productive, for you, the thread and everything else.

I’m not so sure about the redesign.
The overal feeling is that it’s unfocused in terms of ui elements, colors and typography.
To be more hands on, compare this mockup and screenshot:

Mockup. You get the picture in no time. Clean, solid.

Screenshot. To many disparate elements, low contrast, a bit blurry impression.

I’m certainly not an ui expert, but my intention is constructive criticism.

@Jeff Sayre: What’s the latest on your privacy plugin? Anything anyone could help you with?

Docs just added drawing to the toolset which would be awesome for brainstorming in groups.

This is a bit over my coding skills, so all one can do is to advocate the geniousness of this idea and perhaps do some research :)

The Documents List Data API guide is here. There are 3 protocoll versions and only the first has a official php library (Zend). I’ve been digging around the web to find nifty integration examples but have not seen any worth the mention. Anyone else?

    Very impressive work and speed!

I think this fantastic plugin should be abstracted (wording?) for all things objects. Weather it’s images, mp3’s, docs, presentations whatever. There are some major activities that apply to all object handling. Like upload, storage, sorting, tagging, privacy, activity stream, commenting etc. Specific image routines could be in a sub plugin. And the same for docs, movies etc.

In addition to storage, management and collaboration, there would also be a possibility of In-line/ in-site editing of documents.

To clearify, Google Docs know supports storage of any media/document type, ie you don’t have to convert to their format. PDF creation and viewing also supported. But, as you say, consistent user-interface is very important and can be tricky in this case.
