In reply to: Use Forums without Groups?
Here is a solution that might make everyone happy: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/requst-featured-forums
-Create a way to “Feature” select forums
-Create an option to make the group hidden, and remove the “by commenting you will automatically be added to the group” sentence.
In reply to: Requst: Featured ForumsI’d vote for placing it above.
For starters, even just having that Featured Form space would be awesome…maybe optionally hiding the group aspect could come later.
In reply to: Badge Maker@hbndev
I don’t even think it has to be that complicated…just an image/icon that links back to that specific member’s profile page.
Preferably, the site admin could load in a few different icons and members could choose which to include on their other sites or email signatures.
@sarahgooding likes it too…that makes 7 of us so far!
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!any way to automatically at a space before the profile link? it doesn’t work if you are referrencing a URL because it blends the two together.
I deleted all of the old database records…
After 48 hours of trying every hack and patch that everyone threw out, I must have messed something up that didn’t get erased when I deleted the plugin.
Oh, to be a guinea pig…
Time for beer.
Cheers Y’all and thanks for all your help!
I’m all fixed now. thanks for all of your help!
If I can get it up and running on my site, anyone can
I’m getting different behavior in firefox and ie as I’m trying to figure out my problems…
Is anyone else having trouble in different browsers?
Or is everyone working perfect but me?
Will you test it and see if it works? http://housingstorm.com
testing this thing is a pain!
on 1.1.0
I’m getting an error: :This application is not set up to request your email address†if I check either the “ask” or “require” boxes…
Anyone else getting this?
I do have my email verification set up right and even created a new app just to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Same error.
Seems like most of the issues are around usernames….is it worth considering having a field to enter a new username as a part of the authentication?
Everything else…full names, avatars, friends, etc…could still transfer over as we continue to build this out.
Deleted…
Done…try now.
I’ve got version 1.0.8 with buddypress filters acvitated on my site if you guys want to try it. http://housingstorm.com
…scratch that…bug…gimme 10 mins
Peter,
On my site, existing users are mapped with no problems. New user accounts are still a bit funky, but Justin is working on it and it looks like Andy is weighing in.
I’m having a hard time testing as well…it’s a pain to try and make more facebook accounts.
We’ll have to test on each other’s sites i think…

<?php
if( wp_get_current_user()->ID == 0 )
{
if( function_exists(‘jfb_output_facebook_btn’) )
{
jfb_output_facebook_btn();
jfb_output_facebook_init();
jfb_output_facebook_callback();
}
}
?>
in sidebar.php
I’ve got it working perfectly, coded into the sidebar. Check it out:
…and while you’re there, set up profiles if any of you want to develop custom themes for real estate agents
I’m struggling with this now…Justin gave me a code snip:
if( wp_get_current_user()->ID == 0 )
{
if( function_exists(‘jfb_output_facebook_btn’) )
{
jfb_output_facebook_btn();
jfb_output_facebook_init();
jfb_output_facebook_callback();
}
}
I can’t get it to work right.
I put this on your board but I’ll throw it here as well cause i’m in MU 2.9.2 and Buddypress 1.2.1

This is when I click to log on.
I get an error message trying to login with facebook on your ms sunshine site…did you get this working?
In reply to: Use Forums without Groups?I want both.
In reply to: plugin request for LinkedIn integration+1
Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn seem to be the big 3.
In reply to: Show new mailEven if you have unread messages, your notifications might be zero. Is that because you’ve visited your profile screen since receiving the mail?
My vote would be for the notification to remain in the admin bar until after you’ve actually clicked on the message – or at least visited the messages screen.
In reply to: Badge MakerOne more thought for any would-be developers…
The menu should probably be in the “profile” section of the profile page and say “create a badge” or “create a button”
In reply to: Badge MakerGuys, maybe I’m kickin’ a dead horse, but I REALLY think this is a big deal.
which of you buddypress developers wouldn’t want a social badge/icon that linked to your buddypress.org profile that you could put on other sites or even in email signatures? Total street cred.
There is a link right on the front page of your facebook profile to create a badge. LinkedIn, Posterous, Twitter…a big part of their growth has been BECAUSE of badges that give their members an easy way to virally market the sites.
I’m banging my head against the wall wondering why nobody thinks this is important but me.
And, compared to most of the plugins you guys develop, I think this one would be pretty easy!
If no one wants to build it for the community, then I’ll pay someone to do it for me. Any takers?
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasRich, @etiviti
this plugin kills new blog creation.
I’m on MU 2.9.2 and buddypress 1.2.1.
When a user goes to “create new” in the admin bar, they can fill out the url and title, but then it goes to some sort of weird screen with just a ‘blog directory” button and no admin bar.
