I also signed up with another user. When I login with that user, I’m able to get the dashboard, but I get the same message “The blog you have requested is not installed properly. Please contact the system administrator.” — when I try to access the blog with the given URL.
One other thing: neither of the two blogs I tried to create appear on the “Blogs” page of the main WPMU site.
John, I appreciate your instructions, but you lose me when you reference PHPmyAdmin. DOs something need to be changed in the database?
I’m running Debian etch on a campus subdomain: <http://litmuse.maconstate.edu/>. I would like to have blogs on another subdomain — *.litmuse.maconstate.edu — but I can’t find where to add the wildcard.
I, too, am thinking about using BuddyPress along with Moodle in a higher education environment. I’ve been using the latter for almost two years with pretty good success, but WPMU is impressive and calls to me as an administrator and user.
I’m always curious to share experiences and recommendations.
