In reply to: Any successful Buddypress site?In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groups
switch to the default theme as mentioned in my previous post
In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groupsYour code did not appear.
Try, as @hnla said before she deleted her post to revert to the default theme and see if it appears.
If you don’t want users to see your fixing on your site, install “maintenance mode” plugin
In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groupsWell it should be there. I wonder why it is not working?
Go into your theme, if you have the buddypress extension pack installed, or you have created your child theme, go into your theme folder, (wp-content/themes/yourtheme) and then go into the folder named “groups.” Inside there should be a file called “Index.php”
Now check to see if the following code is listed anywhere in the file, “control or command +f” will search for the term.
` <a class="button" href="”>`
If for any reason that it is not in the file, put the code above directly after this code in the file:
`
`
In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groupsOk, so the forums directory the button to create the group is simply not there?
This is an excellent question that I can’t answer, I’ll get the core developer @djpaul
In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groupsLog in to your account on this site, and put this in your browser address:
http://sob-s.com/groups/create/step/group-details/
Then tell me what it says or does after that.
In reply to: PLEASE HELP!!! no group creation option in groupsyou need to give more information about your issue. “there is no option for this”
What do you mean???
Also, please provide some, or all of the questions from This post
In reply to: Redirecting group directory link to group forum pageMaybe a little easier solution is to add a link to the group’s forum next to the name:
Add this to bp-custom.php
`function my_group_loop_forum_link() {
if ( !bp_group_is_forum_enabled() )
return;if ( !bp_group_is_visible() )
return;echo ‘Forum ?‘;
}
add_action( ‘bp_directory_groups_actions’, ‘my_group_loop_forum_link’ );
`In reply to: New members cant activate accounts?In reply to: Buddypress free child themes not workingThe CSS from buddypress is not broken, more like you not doing something correctly. Did you call the default.CSS?
In reply to: Forums tab goes to a blank page-BP1.2.7/WP3.0.4there are several other threads on this:
https://buddypress.org/search/?f=forum+blank
go through all of them first.
In reply to: Not getting activation emailIt’s so funky, my emails totally fluctuate. I just installed 3.04, and activation emails are not being sent out. I will have to go into troubleshooting mode tomorrow….
I wish wordpress would really fix this, I am getting %&$% tired of email problems.
The emails at one time would appear right smack away, but I recall the emails taking a massive amount of time to appear, so I would recommend a notice on the register page about this.
In reply to: Important Buddypress Function not workingtry adding:
`/* Add words that we need to use in JS to the end of the page so they can be translated and still used. */
function bp_dtheme_js_terms() { ?>var bp_terms_my_favs = ”;
var bp_terms_accepted = ”;
var bp_terms_rejected = ”;
var bp_terms_show_all_comments = ”;
var bp_terms_show_all = ”;
var bp_terms_comments = ”;
var bp_terms_close = ”;
var bp_terms_mention_explain = ”;<?php
}
add_action( ‘wp_footer’, ‘bp_dtheme_js_terms’ );`to your functions.php file.
There is extra code in there, if you get a (cannot re-declare) notice, delete the code following your already called function.
In reply to: [Resolved] @mention appears on activity stream?@luvs123, Here is a fix that might work. In bp-activity-classes.php, change
`if ( !empty( $filter_array ) ) {
$user_filter = explode( ‘,’, $filter_array );
$user_sql = ‘ ( a.user_id IN ( ‘ . $filter_array . ‘ ) )’;
$filter_sql[] = $user_sql;
}` With…
`if ( !empty( $filter_array ) ) {
$user_filter = explode( ‘,’, $filter_array );
$user_sql = ” ( a.user_id IN ( ” . $filter_array . ” ) “;
foreach ( $user_filter as $user_id ) {
$search_terms = ‘@’ . bp_core_get_username( $user_id ) . ‘<';
$user_sql .= “OR ( a.content LIKE ‘%%”.like_escape($search_terms).”%%’ ) “;
}
$user_sql .= ” ) “;
$filter_sql[] = $user_sql;
}`In reply to: A few questionsThere is a plugin for a photo, gallery, /audio that hookes into their profile.
When users edit their profile, if you add custom profile fields via admin, every word they fill out will become a tag to member searches and inquiries, so lets say a member puts in their location as “Kentucky” If any such user would to search on the site “kentucky” that member would pop up.
For the chat, I would recommend evolve chat.
In reply to: Move registration form to home pagedon’t put the code from register.php to home page.
All you have to do is edit the slugs
In reply to: How to @mention multiple members ?just put @mention @mention @mention like so?
Are you using default theme, or buddypress extension pack plugin?
In reply to: Adding Register Notice to Admin Bar?or you know, that works too

Merry Christmas!

Maybe in the range of something like this:
`
In reply to: Adding Register Notice to Admin Bar?Do do this, you might need to go into the BP-core, in Adminbar.php. We can’t write the code that you want to appear, you must write the code that you want to appear in the Admin bar, and add it to the php file.
In reply to: getting fatal error – please helpThe problem is not being caused by buddypress, if you look closely at the error message, it says “wp-content/plugins/buddypress-kaltura-media-component
I have no idea what that plugin is, but go into your hosts’ file manager, or FTP, and delete that plugin.
If you just can’t live without the plugin, go into the plugins folder, and find the file “bp-media-group.php” and find line 5, and try deleting that line to see if it would fix it.
Custom theme…..
Default theme…..
In reply to: Minor @mention admin flaw.I have no idea if this is just a issue in my site, but it’s kinda confusing because the “@admin” does not mention the administrator, the “@gunju2221” on my site does, because thats my WP username. It’s funky!
