Maybe I’ve driven myself to exhaustion, but I’m finding it hard to make use of the information danbp provided.

That did appear to be it, but it must also exist in another js file. I’m not very familiar with BP’s theme structure, but isn’t the legacy folder referred to where other files don’t have a reference, or something like that?

From reading that documentation, it looks like the files are named correctly. I’m not sure.

Just my two cents worth but I think if there was a check within BP that “Anyone Can Register” was indeed checked before installing BP would solve tons of issues like this because if someone fails to do this before installing BP then they have to manually associate those pages. Did you make sure you set your registration page as a static page in dashboard/settings/reading because I just tested it and it works as expected. On my dev environment when I go to the site without being logged in it redirects me to the registration page. Once I log in it redirects to the activity stream. Isn’t that what you…[Read more]

Should work fine in the themes functions.php as @henrywright specified or in bp-custom.php

I’m not entirely sure that my front-end template actually references bp_core_fetch_avatar() as it is not a BuddyPress theme but rather a regular WordPress theme (Responsive Pro).

Sadly this hasn’t worked either. I added both lines to the functions.php of the child theme and it still displays the ‘Mystery Man’ 🙁

Thanks for the reply. I checked out that plug-in and it just removes the avatar from displaying on the BuddyPress profile – it still actually retains the ‘Mystery Man’ style avatar as opposed to using the one set in WordPress.

I have managed to add additional fields on comment form. Now my goal is to pass the values of these new fields in the ajax call, to be able to use some hooks like ‘bp_activity_comment_posted’ and more…
That’s why I’m asking the best way to pass additional data.
