Testing is hugely important, the more people doing that the better, spotting bugs and feeding back will help ensure bug fix point releases are reduced.

hnla posted on the forum topic BP Admin Bar overlaps my dashboard in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 10 months ago
Might be missing the point of your issue but in WP 3.2 the link to network admin has been changed from a straight link on the top bar to a dropdown that sits just below the various top bars BP or WP – but again apologies if I point out the obvious. As Paul asks […]

Glad it’s sorted. The moral of the story is never update / upgrade without first checking the support groups for any issues or particular instructions that might be given, it’s hugely important; try never to blindly upgrade, I know the auto upgrade buttons are tempting but resist until you are sure things are going to […]

That’s why I asked if you had upgraded to BP. Look at the error messages and deactivate the plugin that it’s referring to , same method as BP rename the folder, when you are cleanly back in the WP dashboard set buddypress directory back to correct name so that it is listed correctly in plugins […]

rename the BP folder to force deactivate BP then you should be able to get back in to the dashboard, having got back in try upgrading BP to 1.2.9

And did you update BP according to all the notices about the upgrade to WP 3.2, I’m assuming you’ve updated WP to 3.2.

hnla posted on the forum topic A quick note about WordPress 3.2 in the group Miscellaneous: 14 years, 10 months ago
Just looking back one post and at that snippet of code added a script call to the head it worries me as surely you would end up calling two different copies of the primary jQuery library, the WP one would need to be de-registered, preferably not though.

Testing on a default install of BP 1.2.9 / WP 3.2 Activity dir: all reply buttons in activity stream lists work, item-list-tabs work, dropdown activity-filter works.
Are you running bp-default? Have you force refreshed your cache?

Interesting I guess we can always de-register the WP script and enqueue our own versions if necessary, not that may help where plugins are concerned.

You need to look through all the dashboard options and become familiar with the settings available, look under general settings for WP registration options and enable the option of your choice for sign ups.

Probably ought to establish beta cycles earlier on in development cycle, this will feel and act more like a RC when it lands.

@megt12 on a public help forum it’s bad form to expect or try and move a topic away to private messaging, help given is always thought to perhaps be useful to others stumbling across the thread in searches. Defines go in your wp-config.php file. You will definitely be needing to explain the steps you have taken […]

hnla posted on the forum topic Emails generated by php scripts aren't signed with Domain Keys, SPF, DKIM etc? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 10 months ago
Beginning to think that DKIM is the cause of these problems or at least that and combination of something your host is doing, be interesting to see if DKIM were removed entirely from the equation whether RDNS & SPF records were sufficient to placate hurtmail. I certainly have no issues with Hurtmail and haven’t looked […]

Do have to add though – not that it’s any help – checking ones junk mail folders isn’t that hard a thing to do and when you are expecting an email and it doesn’t appear to arrive it’s the first place you would look or should look.

SPF records are txt entries added to your DNS records. The receiving server i.e the hotmail server will do a DNS lookup for the record to verify that the domain administrator has authorised that a specific host is allowed to send emails on behalf of the domain, as far as I’m aware email headers do […]

@anesthetist As you’ll note this thread is marked as ‘Resolved’ this means that in all likely hood people are not going to respond to it. hnla posted on the forum topic Image Competition on BuddyPress in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 10 months ago
On a cursory glance, yes you could work BP into your WP site, BP is simply a plugin for WP that extends WP to include social media aspects such as user profiles, site wide activity streams, user groups. You may want to install plugins such as BP Album+ to handle media , cubepoints for BP, […]

hnla posted on the forum topic How can I get profile field external links to open in a new tab? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 10 months ago
Yes good point; accessibility requirements dictate that links should be clearly marked as ones that open off site links/new windows.
