Closing this duplicate. Mark please avoid duplicating threads it’s confusing and ties people up answering what may already have been covered.

Good to see a fast and positive response from the site.
Only the admin can delete profiles, not sure if Boone has this ability now with the increased access granted?

You’re quite correct it does still exist which I find very odd as I seem to have a recollection of comments that said it would be / was removed.

Sort of suggests your permalink structure is messed up, have you tried reselecting and saving the permalinks?

Thought the stray registration file had been dealt with. As well as rename the register slug, rename the footer links as they are searched out in their default form. I also added a rule to htaccess that checked the referer page and if it wasn’t the site chucked the request to somewhere else (do need […]

We might run that by @boonegorges and see how hard it might be to whip up a simple filter or the like to catch more than 2 or three links and clean them out. the updates and improvements should be implemented any day now. If no provision already made for this issue it might be politely suggested.

@boonebgorges (I miss the ‘b’ out as well).
I wrote to fannation, and they deleted the offending account straightaway (good on them).
Can we delete the profiles on here for the already identified users?
-
Thanks for the heads up on this.
@hnla It should be pretty straightforward to filter for a certain number of links within a profile and then reject it. I’ll add that to the Ninja list.

An extra ‘e’ in the surname would help as well 🙂

Just be easier if he could get a new name altogether :p

A little more info please. Assuming you are using the bp-default theme? The header image is manageable from the dashboard by the user thus the styles are added to the doc head (embedded styles) these would overrule the rules you create in a linked stylesheet, that’s the first C in CSS ‘Cascading’. In your functions.php […]

Hmm don’t like the sound of that at all. Is this directly related to group creation here? Off to have a look around!
-
It’s not groups, it’s direct in their profiles – visit any of those users, and you’ll see their profile description is just stuffed with spam links. There were also some who were stuffing status updates with spam links.
-
checking updates / descriptions with multiple links would help a little – anyone have an automated tool for this?

Not sufficient information for a meaningful response, the single.php in a child theme should override the parent/original for the display of single WP posts.

beef is simply ‘Graceful Degradation’, creating input via Client Side scripting not a good approach no gracefull fallback, but wondering now whether I read Boones post carefully enough? Perhaps that wasn’t what he was thinking?

Hmm all sounds pretty much doable along the lines Boone suggests.
I would draw issue on creating fields via JavaScript though that’s a flawed approach, using JavaScript to show the fields on demand perhaps

hnla posted on the forum topic Allow Users to add fields in the group Miscellaneous: 15 years, 8 months ago
With difficulty. I would suggest best approach is to create a new field group add a series of text fields the user ‘could’ use, ensure they are optional, user fills in what they wish and you only display those fields that return a value i.e have been completed. note: a new field group will only […]

The server is fine from that link it suggests you have a VPS which is effectively your own server to configure as you wish which is good, however that doesn’t mean it is set up 100% effectively, but for the moment one assumes it is. – I had buddypress activated as a plug in on a […]
