BP isn’t a forum app, you can’t have non registered users, wouldn’t bother to try hacking it to, however comment posting to blog posts or allowing anonymous topics and replies in bbPress can be allowed.

I’m afraid you’re trying to achieve something not possible, WP might allow anonymous posting of comments but BP is a membership system, you must be a member to be able to add items to something like the activity stream (otherwise it simply won’t know who to attribute data to) , and many such functions in BP are based on a logged in requirement.

That sort of reads like a spec sheet.

What have you attempted thus far, too what stage have you got your site to?

Many of those requirements are to a degree configuration pf plugins so shouldn’t present too many difficulties.

A few of those requirements might be a little trickier and require the services of a developer.

Well it might be by creating a new role that is allowed access to a custom post type, but then assigning that role to the required members might be an issue?

? where are you creating that page, as written you are describing a WP named ‘page’ template, I think you need to read the provided guides on theme compatibility in the codex. BP pages are virtual i.e created as empty pages, titled as you wish. If you want to modify BP templates then you must follow the structure and paths outlined in the codex guides.

Not really a BP issue as more a WP user role one, you might need to use a roles/capability plugin such as Justin Tadlocks ‘Members’

Yep Paul’s plugin should be the full list, and if you can get his plugin updated or build a plugin that grabs all emails present them for editing and returns them as correct text/html ones you would be everyone’s best friend and a legend 🙂

Bear in mind with that $button array it’s run through a switch statement to determine which state the button is in ‘is_friend()’ and which args to pass.

Secondly never ever edit core files unless you are an experienced developer and even then you shouldn’t be needing to ever edit core application files.

Then as I said start by looking at the codex documentation and activity loops to se how to add a custom activity loop with parameters for loggedin user, in fact examine the user account activity loop as that is a personalised view.

bp-friends-template.php is not an actual template file you don’t override it it’s a core file.

You need to explain what you are trying to do.

Not really getting what you are trying to do here so try and explain your page path again. I create pages from time to time to act as a sort of hub page for logged in user displaying their data but these need to use loops as explained in the codex and pass ID’s as bp_loggedin_user_id() amongst other things.

As would have reading those guides I mentioned, but assuming you did do that, if not please do try to when you have a moment as the reason we write those guides are to attempt to provide answers to these sorts of questions, and help people understand the options they have in dealing with custom themes. 🙂

activate a theme known to work with BP e.g twentytwelve, does issue clear up? This sounds like a custom theme issue I’m afraid.
