@hnla – installed the branch the other day and pagination still doesn’t work on the activity stream. Decided to look at the way I had it done in the child theme but am not done.

@hnla Of course, it would have to be optional. Generally I think this points to a larger issue of BP data portability – but that’s probably a collection of tickets 🙂

@hnla Thank you. Agree that user created groups should be suspended for regular users, but Mods and above should be able to create group/s when needed.
It’s sad that lead devs have no time to program a script for this site which would make it easier for Mods do their volunteer work at BP.org and make this site a testament to BuddyPress goodness…[Read more]

@hnla if you would look on the whole topic, you would see that discussion is about radio button with x selections, but discribed code includes only one selection, therefor my question seems a bit logical, as 60% of people here won’t be able to change code themselves (me too). people that were mentioned in previous posts […]

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Grab a Codex shovel in the group buddypress.org Ninjas: 14 years, 1 month ago
@hnla IMHO one of the organizational problems with the way the Codex was set up before was that so much good information was buried in FAQish pages (like “Customizing your installation”). The new structure allows for someone to create a true FAQs page that doesn’t actually contain any information itself, but instead links to the appropriately […]

@hnla – Seems like troubleshooting should have it’s own section … placed after administration … but maybe that can happen after more information is written.

A bit late, but as promised:

@hnla: if I’ve missed anything let me know, but I think this should cover deleting BuddyPress pretty well!
It’s cool to see an article appear in the codex, I might want to do this more often 😀

ouch… really didn’t mean to be rude… I’ve deleted it myself in good faith. My thought was not to hijack, didn’t I put a link in my thread? Is that hijacking? I wasn’t expecting any further comments on thread regarding this, just also show people my topic. If I broke a code, honestly I don’t read the terms of…[Read more]

Depending on your intention it could be quite rude to hijack a thread like that. In any forum. Seemed a bit like standing inside a McDonalds as a Burger King employee, telling people that the whopper tastes so much better than a big mac and drawing them a map to the next Burger King. To me anyways…
It’s got nothing to do with the Events…[Read more]

I’m going to steer clear of doing that sort of thing from now on, but it wasn’t with bad intentions at all.
you’re welcome on my topic 🙂 I’m just asking for ideas before i dive in….

I’m afraid a hijack it was, putting a link in the post tended to harden that fact. generally hijacking or taking a thread off tangent is any post or comment that deviates from the original OP’s starting post
f I broke a code, honestly I don’t read the terms of use and I’m not a prolific forum user.

To be honest, I found the reference to being spammy a little harsh… that’s all, because I hate spammers! I only posted the link to my topic as it was on the same topic and offered a different solution. I guess everyone has a certain tolerance before something becomes spammy, but given I just posted a link in one topic I thought it was ok.

@hnla I understand your comments about unlimited:) I think you missed the point I was making. I just want to know upfront what will be the cost if my “storage” and “bandwidth” exceeds my plan. Many hosts provide the cost for using extra “bandwidth”. Unfortunately, I have not seen any host that tells you what they […]

It’s definitely an idea worth looking into.
The thing that disappoints me most about WP3 custom menus is that menu titles can’t be linked to anything; they simply default to the homepage.

@hnla sounds like a plan.. most bigger scripts come with a uninstall option in the plugin options, so that might be a good feature for a future version. I do not really know and sql stuff, but if someone knows how to write a sql statement that removes Buddypress tables it can be added in […]

Your kind but my contribution is minimal at the moment. I’m going to bring up the subject of spam and our ability to manage it with Paul again, the issue has been briefly raised but I think some pleading to get various site implementations pushed through sooner rather than later an imperative now, the type of spam we are hosting just shows BP in a…[Read more]
