You would probably have to do something like:
if( bp_the_profile_group != "3" || bp_the_profile_group != "4" ) {
//display the profile stuff in register.php
}You should be able to just toss that check near the top of that while loop and then remember your closing brace at the bottom.
Basically, check your register.php main loop and only show the groups you want to show.
You’re looking for the while loop after the bp_is_active( ‘xprofile’ ) call.
Within the loop, you can filter out groups by doing a simple if check using
if (bp_the_profile_group() == "group number")where group number is the number of the group you want to show.Similar sort of idea in this thread: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/profile-fields-questions

Are you actually able to change your PHP memory limit? (Some hosts don’t allow this)
Does your host kill long running processes?

At what point? On registration? Any field you tag as required will need to be filled out by the user when they register.

In reply to: Idea: Welcome Message on Profile PagesIt wouldn’t be too difficult to do this now. If you created a new profile field for a “profile welcome message”, users could insert whatever they wanted in that area. Then you’d just need to display that field in the member-header.php file. There’s even a comment there to show how to do it.

Alternatively, hook into bp_profile_header_meta and display the “profile welcome message” field with bp_profile_field_data( ‘field=fieldName’ ).

In reply to: How To Use Group Widget Outside of WidgetCreate a new widget area. It’s easy. Check out the following WP codex page for a bunch of links on how to widgetize a theme.

Basically, you create a new widget area and then in your child theme, you put the new widget area where you want to display your group widget.

In reply to: bp-default themeThe first thing I’d recommend is to setup a dev install so your not messing around with your live site. Go download XAMPP or MAMP and install WP, BP and yor theme. Then add the template pack and start developing the required files.

@gian-ava: Again, open a ticket. It sounds like there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Open a ticket. There’s something wrong. Make sure you provide as
much detail as possible
In reply to: Odd blank sections in WP admin after installing BPIf you look at the source of the page, does it look like it’s complete? That is, does the source for the setting page end with:
</body>
</html>If not, it sort of sounds like the httpd process is getting killed while it’s generating the page. It would be really good if you could look in the server logs.
In reply to: Strange behavior in forum post freshnessYes, I think it has something to do with your date or timezone not being set properly on your server.
bp_core_time_since() does a sanity check so as to not return negative times which is where the “sometime” string comes from. There’s been tickets on this before and a few topics in the forums too I think.
Not sure what this template conditional does but maybe it’s the one we’re missing.

bp_is_activity_front_page()
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/conditional-template-tags/
Yup, I know is_home() is for the blog page. What I was suggesting was that since is_front_page() doesn’t work (which it should) so maybe try is_home() and see if something isn’t setup properly.
I’m assuming you didn’t create a new page template called “Activity Stream”. In the bp-default functions.php, there are a number of functions that inject the “Activity Stream” option into the drop down box for static “Front Page”. My thought is that this method isn’t setting up something completely so the standard template tags aren’t working.
Shouldn’t be too difficult to hook into the user’s BP settings tab and have a drop down box that allows them to select the various components as the front page. Have the drop down box save the component slug (so ‘forums’ for the Forums, ‘activity’ for the Activity stream, etc) and then you should be able to just use that slug in the locate_template call in your new page template that you created.
Something like:
<?php locate_template( array( $user_selected_component.'/index.php' ), true ); ?>Did you try is_home() instead?
https://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
The above link suggests that it should be is_front_page() but given how bp-default is playing around with that setting in the backened, you might need to check is_home()
Hehe, always suspect the plugins first. Anytime you have problems you should always strip down to just BP and the bp-default theme. Glad to hear you resolved this though.
